purchased a Gunwerks nexus in 7mm prc. Its a very nice gun. I ordered some hunting bullets for it through Gunwerks. They sent Berger 180 gr Hybrid Target bullets. When I asked them about using the Target Bullets for hunting they said they actually work better because they are more accurate. Any thoughts on this. Im nervous to take a chance on big game with these. Berger bullets advises against it.

180 Hybrid Targets are killing machines. @WeiserBucks has killed a few animals with them….
I had great results with 153gr last year on whitetails, from 80 to about 385.
Starting MV right at 3000.
One was a very long angle on a 200lb buck.

Welcome to LRH, and enjoy! They are correct; those Hybrids from Berger are bad-arse medicine. Berger is probably against recommending them for hunting because they are being marketed as target bullets, but end-users have used them for many years.
Are you in Butte, as in 406?

I use the same bullet form my gunwerks 7saum. It worked great for two mule deers and an antelope.

Plenty of folks have had outstanding success with the OTMs, too. IIRC, most of the LRO team uses them in their African safari hunts. I have 250s and 300s in .338 cal but have not loaded any. I know that BROZ at LRO uses the OTMs in his LRKM, and so does his son. There are a few folks here, too.

I used those same weights in my 338-416 Rigby Improved, let me say that I had several failures, including no expansion, tumbling through the game and blowing up in the 250g. I had issues in my 300-416 Rigby Improved with the 230g OTM with the same issues above.
Both cases were from around 300-700 metres.

As with anything else, YMMV. The same is true with personal experiences, both successes and failures. More failures were reported when I transitioned to Bergers (a long-time Nosler and Hornady user, and still do) in the early 2000s. In the last decade, Berger remains my go-to bullet. I forgot that I also have the 230 OTMs. I need to start loading them and get the same personal experience as I did with the VLDs, Hybrids, and target versions. Cheers!

180 hybrid target is one of the best hunting bullets out there IMO.
I use them in a 300NMI (230's). They have done very well on elk. I do think you need to puck your shot. Dont try a center of shoulder type shot, pick you heart/lung shot and it will be fine.
The bullets are much more fragile, and at least on the 4 elk I have shot with them, come apart in the animal. Dont expect an exit wound or blood trail
