Berger 156 in 6.5 PRC

I actually get really goodd accuracy with RL26, too. I use it in my 25sst loads and it shoots less than half inch moa.

I do to. It's a majical grey pixie dust that makes things shoot when other powder doesn't.

I've worked with 4 different 6.5 PRC rifles using RL-26, all of the rifles had 24" Proof carbon barrels. Accuracy was awesome in all of them with RL-26 pushing the 156 Berger's right @ 3000 fps. These targets were some seating depth testing I did @ 500 yards with 57.5gr and 58gr. seated .020, .025, & .030 off the lands. For reference green target dots are 2" circles.

Two of mine I shoot thr RL26 in at 57.8 in one and 58.0 in the other. Majical. Kids two prc's shoot N560

560 and 26 are my go but 565 is great as well. H1000, RL26, 560, 565 have all be quite good for me.

The two you have will work for sure. N565 and N570 are two others to check out. R23 will work but might be a little too fast to give you the most velocity. It'll be accurate, though.

Was able to pick up a box of 156gr to try and wondering what powder you guys recommend? I currently have N565 and RL26. Hornady brass.

Start about 54.5 grs of RL26 and work up.

Berger recommended 64 grains of N570 with their 156's, it gives me 3311 fps average out of my 31" Bartlien.

53.9 R26 at .090 off the lands Lapua brass 26'' benchmark and throated .025 longer. Bullets seated at the junction and very accurate,right at 3000 fps went as high as 55 grs before pressure and did the ladder test 10, 50, 90, and .120 thousands. It's great to see other powders working well.

Well, I learned about drop tubes, never used one before. So when someone suggested one, I made up a 12", and it works perfectly.

Put your loading block on the dryer for an hour while you dry your pantalonies, settles the charge quite nicely. 64.0g of RL26 will not fit in my ADG brass though.

While I don`t use either one of those powders with the 156 in my PRC. Broz and others have had outstanding performance with VV N565 as I recall.
