Have you verified your scale is accurate? What's your barrel length compared to the test barrel for Berger?

I use the frankford arsenal powder scales all the time. Double checked with another scale I had as well. 26" barrel

Calling WTO on Tuesday. To see if they can look it over for me. Have to make the almost 2 hour drive but they are the only ones I trust.

Barrel manufacturers can send a tight one out of the door, I've got one that is verified!

But it shoots so good I said to hell with that 100-150fps. The norm for years has been 1" plus or minus at 300yds with Nosler BT and AB.

If they have a set of pin gauges at WTO, bore diameter can be verified. Hopefully no tight spots.

You have a bit of a carbon ring, but not horrible (can cause pressure spikes). A lot of fire cracking. Round count on the barrel?

Factory brass and peterson with have issues. Factory ammo I can cycled the bolt after firing the case with a little resistance. Peterson is nearly impossible to open the bolt.

Looks like a pretty heavy swipe on the factory too. Something is off for sure.

I'd say at almost 3k I'd probably just back down a bit and see if it goes away. I used to have a 26" bartlein carbon in 6.5 prc and couldn't push 144s over 3k without pressure. Also does it have an AW chamber or sammi? Could very well have a tight web.

Oh and I'd agree that musta been a helluva 200 rounds to chew your throat like that! I've got barrels around 1k that don't look like that.

Bought used with 200 rounds down it and cleared with bore cleaner. Shot and here we are

That throat looks like way more than 200 rds. More like 400-600 HOT rounds IMHO.

I suggest you have a real good Smith check it out.

I would suggest getting some David Tubb TMS bullets and smooth that throat out, if the barrel is salvagable.
Also have the Smith verify if it is a SAAMI chamber or AW if possible.

I sold him the barrel. There is only 200 down the tube. No way I put 400-600 down it, I would never have sold the barrel
