I think another guy shot one in MT few years back ,shotgun ,at ninepipes reserve.With shot gun.My now 96 year old FIL,shot a grizzly when he was a young dumb kid at fire lookout.With 22.

I heard shoot them in the face if all you have is a shotgun with birdshot. Maybe blind them. It's ballsey. I did a very lame thing last Sept. and went grouse hunting up on Rattlesnake mtn.. I only took a 12 gauge with 6 shot and a 22 auto pistol. I started walking through the trees and realized how stupid I was for not bringing a 10mm or even slugs and 00 buck for shotgun. If I even had time to change loads. I got creeped out and went back out to road and back to truck. Old man buddy was waiting. He said what's up ? I told him why. Screw that.
