barrel decision(s) for a cartridge replacement in long action .540" bolt face

regardless of brand or action number i have a 300wm and can use either mag of 3.850 or 3.715 depending on which stock i use. now a list of current cartridges i have, then a possible list of choices (you can add other choices).

what i have currently
6.5prc
264wm
7saum
300wm

for possible change(s)
7rm
28nos
300prc
300wsm

not sure about any in
27cal
7prc
33cals

reason i wouldn't choose these
7prc, not enough gain over the 7saum
passing on the rum cases due to heavy per caliber bullets would be seated deep even when using 3.850 mags

what suggestions would you have that i could find reloading components in stock as that would be how i could make final decision(s)?
300 Win Mag with a long throat would be my pick.

I mentioned a 270WSM earlier. Here's a load for mine which I had throated with total of .200 Freebore and built on a long action.

If I follow what you are looking for I re-barreled one of my 300 WM rifles to 338 Win Mag like it, but if I had to do it all over again, I would have went 33 Nosler. Another caliber you may want to consider is a 375 Ruger. What I have is a .223/5.56, 6.5 Creedmoors, 7mm PRC, 300 win Mag, 338 Win Mag and a 375 Ruger. For many years I just had a 300 win mag. But now that I am older have purchased rifles for bucket list hunts. Due to a recent injury to my left hand have put these hunts off again. But hope to test out if this inhibits my marksmanship.. But as I have gotten older have been able to get other calibers. I now have a caliber for what I consider adequate for every hunting scenario, although I wouldn't mind getting an 6mm ARC upper for a .243 caliber to run on my AR platform. It is an enjoyable hobbie, to get each rifle dialed in for what I want to use it for.

It's funny how you mark your reloads/development loads as i do it the sane way. Use different colored labels, right powder snd/or charge weight and use a narker on the brass to keep track.

what are the heaviest bullets in 27cal? 175's are all i know of? i really want a 7.5 twist in 28cal for 197smk's, but most of where i see is 8 being the fastest. would you need anything faster than 8 in 27cal?
My .270 AI has 30" Lilja 3G 1"8" (the fastest twist at the time). It was built in 2012 primarily to propel the 165/175 Matrix VLD. When it is time to re-barrel, it will be faster than the 1:8" twist.

With current C&C offerings, 1:8" is sufficient. If you are considering heavy monos, go with 1:7" or faster.

not much of a mono loader excluding the few barnes i have due to my 6.8spc and 243win. this was back when they offered tac-x (not tts-x). now the tac-tx has been in place of w/o the various caliber offerings (only .264 & .308). i don't care to swallow the costt of small cal monos @ $1+.
