Badlands Precision Bullets thread - From BC to terminal ballistics

You might try N570 if you can find some. I've got a 24" proof barrel, ADG brass on its 2nd firing. Running 81.4 grains of N570 at 3020 fps. Currently shooting 4-1/2" groups at 600, I'm waiting on some 21st century mandrels to experiment with neck tension, see if I can tighten up the groups a little.

With a COAL of 3.50" how much are you jumping them? I'm running the 195's in a 300 PRC seated at 3.602 COAL which is jumping them 0.050 in my barrel.
The only round I have completed a load for with the Badlands bullets is my 6.5cm, but it ended up liking a .040 jump the best with the 125gr 264 bullet. Just a data point.

I ran a pressure test yesterday with Staball 6.5 & 80 bulldozer. I never hit pressure so I'm gunna keep working up. I made it up to 3450 with a 22" barrel

I've ran this combo in my 6GT and got to 3400 with a 22". Waiting on some new bushings. Hope these shoot, like what im seeing in the dirt.

Yeah I'm pretty excited about it. Hoping to tag a couple with it this year. I'll do a seating depth test in the next couple of days. Did you ever hit pressure with your GT?

When I started seating it deeper than .020" I did.

I've got two pounds of N570. It's all I could locate. I've got some Magpro, 7977, H1000, LRT, and 7828.

I might have to play with this after I get back from my trip.

Loaded up some 250 SBD2's and 275 SBD2's for my Norma just to verify dope and groups. Plan is to get to the longer range over the long Labor Day weekend.

Your story sounds familiar. Did you send us a video of you shooting that bullet at 800+ yds and printing a quarter sized 3 shot group?
That's the one.

We are scheduled to head into the bush in roughly three weeks. I'll get more internal pictures if we are successful this year.

Well, my Norma is where it should be with the 275 SBD2's at 300. It ain't the fastest, but I'll take accuracy over speed.

Loaded up a seating depth ladder and I need to back the powder off a lot. Had two charges loaded with the same seating depth ladder, based on previous data, and that 195 grain BD2 was moving at almost 3200 fps for a couple shots.

But, oddly enough, the first group at .010 off, with the largest charge, shot the best group.

No stuck cases or heavy bolt lift, but the primers were pretty flat.
