9.3x62 Does anyone shoot it?

I own two. A Sako 85 Classic special run and a Ruger African. I shoot the African but haven't done any load development yet. Lapua makes brass and Mega's but it's expensive. Speer makes a good 270 gr SP that can be had cheap. I buy my components pretty cheap usually at Gunshows. Nobody knows what it is. I am still working through my ammo stock. 200 rds of Privi 286 gr takes a while to get through.

A follow up to my original post as up to that point I hadn't been fortunate enough to take an animal with it.

I now own a different Sako, a Model 75 Hunter sporting a McMillan stock. Fitted with a Leupold VX5HD 2-10x42. Have a Zeiss Diavari Victory 2.5-10 T* Illuminated on its way for it.

Still have my African although I don't use it much now. It has a Vortex Razor LH 1.5-8 in Alaskan Arms QD rings.

I have grown very fond of that Sako 75 and am shooting 232 gr Vulcan now in hopes of finding a legal whitetail buck.

I have two. Very capable round (rifles can be made very accurate) and effective out to around 450+ yards depending on bullet selection and initial muzzle velocity. Cow elk was taken at a lazered 350 yards

Has become more popular in the US over the last 20 or so years and brass is fairly available.

I have a prewar JP Sauer & Sohn built on a 98. I bought the rifle as a "J" bore 8x57 and the bore was really rough. I pulled the barrel and sent it to JES reboring in OR and had him rebore/ re-rifle to a 9.3. I chambered it and reinstalled it. Haven't had much time to work with it and there are no optics because it was never drilled and tapped for bases. Nor real sure what I'm going to do with it yet. The saving grace is that JP never caliber marked the rifle so it still looks original.

John the pad was on the rifle when I got it but it appears to be a pad from Galazan ( Connecticut Shotgun) back east. I've used their red rubber recoil pads on a lot of rifle builds and they are very nice. They even make a very nice Winchester repo red recoil pad.

Thanks Brother! I really like old German and British rifles. This has the Lyman rear aperture sight that mounts on the bolt release and it is kind of classy. The wood is pretty thin in some areas due to the inletting requires for the double set trigger so I carefully inletted and bedded cross bolts in critical areas in a manner they can't be seen. Am a little worried the additional recoil could be hard on the stock. If I can get her shooting right it might be on the next elk or bear hunt. Kind of takes you back to the days of Ruark and Hemingway.
