7mm STW Reloading Thread

Got my Berger 195's in the mail today! looks like I'll be loading some up tonight or tomorrow. I wish I had a good starting point..... I guess I'll back off my current load of N570 that I'm using for the 180's and start there. Any help would be appreciated.
There is still data floating around for the old Super Mashburn and 195s, but no modern powders that I know of

Anyone try the 175 gr nosler long range accubonds if so what powder are you using

Also 83-85 grains of RL33 over 215M primers has been a great range. Actually prefer the RL33 to H1000, but most of the load development I've done with it has been with the Berger 180 grain Target Hybrid. 83.8 grains of RL33 at .050" off the lands has been my favorite with the 180's - 3130 fps out of a 27" barrel 5R 1:9 twist. Max was 85 grains @ .050" off the lands. You may be able to load hotter if you use a slightly longer jump space but I'd work up to it slow & carefully from 80 grains.

You get better case fill% with RL33 and temp sensitivity has been very minimal. I've shot loads at 20 degrees and 90 degrees with very low velocity spreads +/- 10-15 fps & actually tend to see higher pressures at low temp.

Looks like we may have a promising load with Lefty7STWS new stick...
79 Gr RL33, 215M,WW-Super Case, 3.9 OAL with the 195 Berger....
200m Target--- stale air, nasty mirage and 83 degrees.... stack against the odds of a good group... but here it is.

I have a browning A-Bolt 26" tube and for Elk I shoot Nosler accubonds 160 gr. with 80 grs. of retumbo. Am looking at trying RL 25 with these bullets. They put them down great with very little flesh damage

Got excellent groups with 77.5 gr of RL 25, 160 AB, Fed 215, Rem cases. Rem 700, Douglas air gauged 26", 1/10. Haven't clocked it yet, that's next. Work up slowly, went as far as 79, no pressure signs, but groups went to hell.

PS forgot to add OAL 3.66, jump is **** near .250.... Standard mag box...

I'm running a Remington 700 custom 1-9¾ twist 26 inch barrel unknown manufacturer 83.1 grs of H870 with a 175 gr Sierra c.o.a.l 3.685 2997 fps. 150 gr Sierra Game Kings and 76.5 grs of IMR 7828 @ 3.690 c.o.a.l 3247 fps
