Thanks Md, my oal for my chamber is 3.880. I load at 3.650 cause that's as long as the magazine allows.

It is a 26 inch Brux barrel with 200 rounds down it. It has a 1:9 inch twist with a muzzle break. I haven't checked for Throat erosion but the Original owner said he used HSM ammo and didn't reload for it.
At 80 grain...lol, ex wife.

Try 160 Accubonds. Those always shot great out of mine. The Berger 168 VLD's are doing great, too. And the 180 VLD's are doing insane in mine.

My rifle likes H1000 too much for me to switch up right now. 19 shot good, 22 shot better, but H1000 was the ticket for mine.
I was gonna try some 7828 SSC, but I think I might save that pound for when I get my .280 AI built, and use it in that. That seems like a good powder for that cartridge.

So the 1:9 inch twist would be good for the 180? All I have been reading about at the 160-168 grain loads. I want the highest BC possible when I start reloading.

Most indubitably. The 180's are perfect in the 1:9 twist.

The velocity of the stw is the secret. Because its fast as the roadrunner, it stabilizes 180's. Keep it below 3100 fps and you'll reach way out there.

My 180 VLD load is pushing right @ 2900 fps...It shoots REALLY nice.

I have two 7mm STW's that I'm lucky shoot the same loads. One is a factory Rem DBM 25 1/2 inch 1:9.5 twist barrel with break and the second is a custom Rem with a 26 inch 1:9 Hart barrel. I keep going back to H1000 over other powders with 140's, 160's and now the Berger 168. I noticed it the most with the 160's & 168 grain bullets. I am seeing up to 150 fps loss in velocity as the temp falls. With H1000 I don't see this.

Is anyone buying into the hype and getting the Accubond Long Range bullets for your 7mm STW?
My 140 grain regular Accubond reloads are lethal (on whitetails) and very accurate in my past experience with them. And there are good to go coming out of the barrel at 3,450 fps (with a minimum 1,800 fps) out to almost 1,000 yards.
I've got some 168 grain Accubond Long Range on order and I've got a lot of H1000 right now so I'll probably give them a try. They will be probably coming out of the barrel at 3,150 - 3,180 fps so with my ballistic calculator (these ABLR are lethal to a minimum of 1,300 fps) they are good to go out to 1,680 yards.
I really have to ask myself is it realistic (or delusional) of me to even think I am capable to even shoot at these extreme long ranges let alone I can even shoot out to almost 1,000 yards with the regular Accubonds.
The only advantage I see the 140 grain regular Accubonds are only good (energy to take an elk) out to 700 yards and the 168 grain Accubond Long Range are only good (energy to take an elk) out to 930 yards.
With probably not going out west in the foreseeable future and shooting at elks, I may just save my money and stick with the regular Accubonds for whitetails where I hunt.
