Looking into this cartridge and can't find any info online or in the forums. Looking at 175-195gr bullet experience with particulars such as load data and barrel length.

Defensive Edge Rifles built me a 7mm Blaser mag last fall.

Mine is a semi custom and used a Rem 700 LSS that I had sitting around as the donor. I wanted something that was a little lighter than my others so Shawn used a 26in. Hart #4 fluted. So far all I've shot in it is 180 Bergers with RL26 and out of the 26 inch barrel it's right at 3050fps and shoots into the .3's

This is from the Blaser USA page for reloading comparison:

This data was generated for the European public since they don't have a use for the extremely long and heavy bullets.

When you examine the cartridge as I did a while back, performance-wise, it's nearly the same as the American belted 7mm Rem. Magnum. The Blaser cartridge is beltless and has been designed for the intermediate length actions, although with the bullets you ask about, you can utilize the full length of the long action magazine in order to gain powder space.

I'm shooting the 7mm-300 WSM in a short action with a 26" barrel, getting the same performance. For long range, I'm running a 7mm-300 Norma Mag. which runs away with the performance comparison but using a longer barrel, of course.

Regards.

Thanks all. My issue is I don't want to mess with a belted case. I have a 7 lrm but want a little better brass. Right now I am between a 7mm saum and a 7 mm blaser mag. I don't really want a 28 nosler or a wildcat so any other production cartridge that falls in line with a saum or blaser is up for consideration. I know all the arguments for the 7mm rem mag, 7 lrm and 28 nosler so no need to rehash them here. Any help would be great!

'midnight', a couple years ago I was in the same need. I had components to build a 7lrm & decided to look at other alternatives for the same reasons as you stated with much the same criteria. After considering most all options, I came across the Blaser Mag. & decided id look in to it further. not much info to say the least, but I kept at it & came up with all the info I needed to commit to having one built. Brass & dies were available, load data was in norma vol2 manual, norma loaded ammo for it, So I started acquiring components for an improved version, reamers were ordered, custom dies were ordered, & custom rifle components ordered, I also had Berger work up load data for 180 & 195's. Then stuff was sent off to the smith.
fast forward to this week... I just received my custom 7mm Blaser Mag "Rogue" this week. it is an improved shoulder version with slight capacity increase.
My rifle was built by Rhian at High Country Precision. (bigngreen on this forum). I had a hard time prying it away from Rhian, I think he enjoyed shooting it lol. maybe why he said he'd build one in a heartbeat in his previous post.
I have not yet worked up loads for it yet , but I anticipate being able to run the 180's in the 3050 fps range & the 195's around 2900 fps from a 26" bbl.
I think you'd be happy with a Blaser Mag. Excellent Brass is available from norma.
non belted case fits nicely in a std long action , even with bullets seated long.
I will be doing load work in the next couple weeks. pm me with any questions.
David.

As you can imagine, I'm a bit partial to the chambering, but that's a nice looking setup Rhian has built you.

What powder/s are you thinking of working loads up in?

I don't have an "improved" version but in my 7mm Blaser Mag I'm currently shooting 68.5gr of RL26 lit by 215M's, behind the 180 Bergers. I've got some N570 I want to work up a load with because I think that powder could maybe give it a 75-ish fps boost over the RL26. Only time will tell but something in the 3120 FPS range out of this size case with the 180 Bergers in a 26 inch barrel would be kind of impressive but even if N570 turned out to be a bust, I can certainly live with 3050.

David it looks like we are trying to accomplish the same thing so that's awesome. I'm looking at doing a proof barrel, defiance deviant hunter action, manners eh-1 with a detachable mag.

B23, I would like to run federal 215m primers with H1000 or retumbo if possible due to me having a good supply and temp stability.

B23,
I think I'll start work on the 180 ELDM
With Re-26, & then N570.
Rhian did some preliminary work with the 195's & re-26 & thought he could get a bit more velocity with Retumbo, so I'll work on that as well.
