Holy smokes! I beleive you but will also say I've certainly not seen it be that sensitive in my rifles. Different lot maybeIt's a pretty good choice for 28SM! Slings a 169gr at 3250fps!
Pretty temp sensitive. 40F to 60F seems to have jumped 40 fps.
Not on the shelves here in Helena but I see it online. Here's a question…anybody see any 7828 in the last year on a shelf?
It shows out of stock for meNot on the shelves here in Helena but I see it online.
Powder Valley has it now:
IMR 7828 SSC Smokeless Gun Powder | Powder Valley Outdoors
Hodgdon IMR 7828 SSC (Super Short Cut) allows more space in the case and velocity yield than standard 7828.www.powdervalley.com
Try ammoseek and wikigunsIf anyone finds it online please chime in
My LGS about a hour & half away has many IMR powders. Including decent pricing on primers. As to what I see online. I think a lot of people have given up on reloading in my area. It's more of a old timers game here. Most people buy factory ammo for deer season & call it good for the year.I haven't seen very many IMR powders in the last year for sale anywhere.
I bought 2 pounds a short while back.I nearly went through a pound in working up a load for my 300 weatherby. It shows out of stock for me
It does well in my 7mm stw but I only go up to the upper 160s. I load it fairly hot, but most all my powders perform better with hot loads out of that gun.just curious about this powder. I will try in 7mm prc with 175 eldx
I haven't loaded bigger calibers yet. 223, 6.5grendel, 6.8 spc, 30-06.
The 7828 was the only magnum powder I saw so I bought a pound.
