7828 ssc what can i expect

Ps, there's no discernable differences in the two powders velocity, just the ssc loads and meters a little better. I'll take ssc any day over the Lincoln logs.😁
My log book showed 7828 gave me slower velocities per grain weight in my 340 Weatherby vs when I switched over to 7828ssc. They were both shot for years out of the same rifle during the same pre-season conditions. So I wanted to do a side-by-side.

I have shot IMR 7828 with Federal 210s for a long time in the 280 and AI with 160-175g bullets, amazing accuracy with speed.

When I tried H4831, speed was 100 fps slower.

I work up loads in weather from 65* to 75* and hunt in 32*-45* weather, never a problem.

IMR 7828 is amazing in the 270 Winchester with 130-150g bullets, accuracy in the extreme.

7828 SS, is a fine powder, but, being smaller rods of powder allows a little more in the cartridge case, and , I think, the load recipes are slightly lower than the old 7828 , which had the longer rods of powder.
7828 SS that I have seems hotter than 7828.
Use 7828SS with caution.
Start low and slowly work up a load.
