7 SAUM load data

I have not measured the Accubond 160's precisely due to mag length limit since my other bullet measurements are all safe lengths.
My thought would be at least .040 away but likely more.
I can measure later today if you need.

With my experience loading Ballistic Tip and Accubond in several calibers, they don't mind a long jump.
I also have 6.5-284 Norma, 284 Winchester with long throat that jump .100 or more and shoot very well.

I tighten neck tension when jumping really far to delay bullet release. That nano-second delay seems to work well to seal the neck area and quicken the long journey to the lands thereby keeping velocity and accuracy up.
I don't crimp but basically the same idea.
Appreciate the feedback. It seems they're not super Jump sensitive. Great to know about the increased neck tension too. Makes sense.

Yes. They are very forgiving and jump tolerant.
The ballistic tip tends to be a bit more so than the Accubond but I've found that if you work up a load for one… you can usually substitute and have the same or near same poi.
I use Ballistic Tip to tune as they are cheaper and sometimes easier to find. Then test the Accubond to make sure all is good.
FYI, if you have no Ballistic tip and short on Accubonds, you can try Speer 160 (which are very inexpensive) for get a baseline on pressures of intended powders.
Then drop a tad and work back to finalize with your Accubond

Again, thanks for the info! Once I figure out my COAL I'll try the 160 AB with N560, ADG brass (6x fired now), Fed210M's. Probably start at 59 gr and work up in .5 gr increments. When I've used N560 in the past with 175/180 class I start getting heavy bolt lift around 62-63 gr. So that seems like a safe range, especially if you had best accuracy at 61 gr.

I may have had a little more room to increase powder but I liked the node @2965 with my suppressor. It is smooth and looked to be very consistent.
I'll tweak it later but for now, I know it's really close to it's happy place.

Let me know if you want me to measure distance from lands.

Great speed to be at even on a mild load. Mine is an 8.5 lb scoped 22" barrel gun without the suppressor or bipod. I see mid 2800's with 175/180's so 2900+ is great for 160's.

I understand this isn't your first reloading endeavor and I may be crossing the line a bit and will get slammed by saying this.
Whatever you do!!!...Don't believe lots of the BS load data that come across.
Someone is always trying to **** farther than the next but they only shoot 50-200 rounds a year when the weather is right or can get to the range! and yada, yada!

Take it from the guys that have run them with good data, field experience, and a reputation of rifle building and load development offering consistent load findings...Not me.

Just read some of the 7 SAUM threads on here... some of it is laughable to say the least.

Comparison of the 160 AB next to 180 ELDM & 175 EH. I was surprised to see how much bearing surface the 160 AB has! That third picture is the AB at the lands in my rifle, 3.005" COAL. Full neck engagement on the bearing surface still.

Yes Sir! The ogive is way up there. Given the length from base to ogive... its easy to get them into the lands!
Any load work yet?

None yet. I'm going to start with N560 though and see where it goes. With the bearing surface on these I wouldn't be surprised if they show pressure signs at similar charge weights as the 175/180's. We'll see!

You are correct.
I actually wrote this earlier and deleted it because I didn't want to get long winded.
The long bearing surface and the thick jacket will indeed show pressure at same charge weights as other bullets in the same weight class... and possibly even with 175/180's as you mentioned.
Before I tried N560, I shot 162 A-Max over the same charge as accubond and they jetted out of there at a good 50-75 fps faster than the accubond.
I haven't tried anything else with the N560 yet but 168 ABLR is on the list.

So far in the 7 saum I've tried N560 with the 175/180 bergers & 143 hammer hunters. I landed on N565 with 175's. The N560 had higher speed than N565, but accuracy was better with the N565. N560 worked great with the hammers.

160 AB Load Development done

In my 22" barrel rifle:
61.5 gr N560 @ 2920 fps
160 AB @ .030" off (2.975" COAL)

One of the easier load workups i've done. Ran a charge weight ladder in .5 gr inc from 59 gr up to pressure. Had slightly heavier bolt lift at 63 gr and discontinued there. Charge weights 61 & 61.5 were touching and well under pressure. Shot two 3 Shot groups of each and the 61.5 stacked & repeated. Now to just find some more... 🤔

Nice!
Sounds like my development story!
Went very quick and easy.
My Proof barrel has 87 rounds thru it now and seems to already have sped up some… according to original load.
Mine is 24" and 61 gr got to 2960ish.
I've been seeing both N560 and 160 Accubond show up on occasion in the last month or so.
