338 06 AI shooter's

Hey all hope everyone is well. Looking to connect with 338-06 AI shooters

Not an AI shooter but my #1 go to Missouri deer rifle is a custom 338-06 a-square. Not much difference between the two performance wise. Favorite load is CFE223 and 186 hammers. Deadly one hole combo.

Tagging in. I'm waiting for a barrel to put a 338-06AI together this summer/fall. I will probably load up a lighter HHT when they release it. I would like to run something in the 175-185 gr weight.

My 22" barrel is pushing the 186's at 2850 and it's a mild load.

Which powder and how has the terminal performance been? Main use deer or elk?

CFE223 and has been great on deer

I neck up 30-06 Lapua brass and go shoot. IMO on AI version isn't worth the extra fire forming. The performance difference is negligible. Especially in a short to mid range cartridge.

Coming in late, but what the heck.

Last year I picked up a LH Ultra Light Arms rifle in .338-06 AI. Wife's fall (broken femur) and evacuations for wildfire wiped ot the summer, which means shooting.

I barely gor some ammo loaded in time to hunt. Didn't shoot anything.

Now I've started loading it, and have to get some shooting weather.

Delightful rifle.

And I'm looking for a RH lightweight 338-06 for a friend.
