6x47 Lapua vs 6mm Creedmoor

What about 243? Brass is abundant and cheap. No slouch either

Not sure which one to go with. Wanting to shoot the 108gr ELD. Will be used for long range hunting (medium sized game) as well as some matches. Gonna build it on a trued Rem 700 action. I reload only so the availability of factory ammo doesn't matter to me. Both has good brass to choose from. I'd us the SRP brass if I went 6 Creedmoor. They seem quite equal as far as ballistics so I'm stuck on which to go with. Which would you go with and why?
I'm going to build, a 6XC II on my, SA Rem 700 LH action with, a 1-8 Brux #3, 24" SS bbl., an HS precision, Sporter / hunting, stock and 6.5x 20 Burris scope for Varmints to Deer. The 6XCII has PROVEN, Match winning accuracy, and is very close to the .243 Win as far a power goes but with 7 grain of powder less and with BETTER, Barrel life!. Go to the AccurateShooter.com site and read what David Tubb and German Salazar have to say about it and go to the Forum to read what others, have to say! Norma is making Brass and the 80 to 108 grain, bullets shoot real well with .090 Freebore, JGS reamer, 6XCII-ST,.. My "choice" for a fun, semi long range, accurate, all around Rifle.

What about the 243 30° improved?
Yes, the .243 30* shoulder, is very good too, but I like the longer Neck of, the 6XC and 7 grains less powder, to aid, in Bbl. "Life". all the 6mm's discussed, are very good but, I PERSONALLY like, the 6XC best ! With Barrels and labor to install at $700.00 I want "good" barrel Life.

6x47 has great barrel life so I would think the 6CM would be similar. I think the type of powder has more to do with throat wear than the shoulders. Just my opinion tho

Shoulder angle, Neck length, powder Burn rate and flame "turbulence" has been discussed at great length, on the Accurate Shooter "Forum" and the consensus of many, favor the 30* shoulder angle for accuracy and longer Necks, to aid in barrel Life with, Lower Heat/ flame "turbulence" at, the Throat of the chamber. Good Info there IMO and the reason for my,.. 6XC choice.

Case in point the 7 mm WSM, has pretty much "died" out because of, short Neck and barrel "Life",..is poor ! yet the .270 and .300 WSM's are quite popular.

YUP,. and getting 500 to 1,000 more, accurate shots, at NO extra cost,,..IS nice! The 6XC does that, over many, but not all , of the 6mm's. I never shoot more than 3 shots before letting my center fire barrels, cool back down and I will try to find the "coolest" burn rate Powders that are available and accurate, for this Cal. I do realize that Barrels are a "consumable" item but, I'm NOT into throwing away my Dollars, too fast, either! All 3 of the Cal's discussed, ARE very good, my thinking is that, the 6XC is just, a bit better, for MY purposes ! Norma wouldn't be making Brass if they didn't think, the 6XC wasn't going to, survive.
