How do you like that stubby stock? I thought that was a really cool concept by manners. Wasn't sure how feasible/practical it was though. I have the manners MCS-TA carbon fiber and love it. Manners has perfected stock making.

I absolutly love it. Could always be lighter but this really wasn't meant to be a super light rifle. It has opened my eyes that I much prefer a 12 3/4-13" LOP over a 13 1/2- 14" standard LOP. It's pretty neat watching people of different builds get behind it and adjust it to their liking in seconds.

It's also awesome to compact it all and strap it to the side of my pack. I use a kifaru gun bearer and it doesn't stick over my head.

Stating at the top 6.5 Sherman Rem LA
Timney 510 @ 2lbs
#4 bench 26" Millar break
McMillan edge fill GS
140 Berger @ 3250 with N570
Next is 6.5 284 Rem LA Timney 510
Same barrel no break
Same stock reg fill.
140 Berger 4831sc 2887
Next 6.5x55 Rem LA Sheep rifle Timney510
Wildcat ultralight stock
#3 Lalija no break
Shot 127 RLX Barnes real well

The best by far out of the 3 was the 6.5 Sherman everything I wanted out of a 6.5 caliber in a standard cartridge. The 6.5 284 was OK but I would never go that route again if I'm gonna have a LA will be a Sherman. I feel the same way about the 6.5x55 as well.
My wife and son both shoot savage 6.5 CM was loading 130 Berger with 4350. BUT the Hornady 129 shoots do well out of them I'm not reloading for them any more they both hold .5-.75 MOA out to 600 yards. They are good shooting rigs for the price.

What a beautiful rifle you have there! What is the reason you wish you would have gone with the bdl over the Dbm?

Great looking rifle! Makes me just that much more excited for the build that should be here any day on an atlas tactical action! Do you enjoy your atlas?

Pretty much all my rifles have dbm so out of habit I did this one as well. Keep counting the ounces in my head that I added. Would of just been neat to have it a little different than my other rifles and saved a few more ounces.

I've ran a few aftermarket actions and a bunch of factory actions and I don't think I've felt an action as smooth and effortless than my kelblys and I only have about 150 rounds on it and probably 600 dry fire cycles. I constantly pull the bolt back and check to make sure it picked up a round. Mechanical ejector has been fantastic for slow fire when I don't need to throw rounds 5' away! I wouldn't hesitate to build with another one.

I've run a bunch of others, too, and the Kelbly is my favorite by far and it's the lease expensive. I don't know how long they'll be priced where they are but it can't be much longer.

I just finished up another 65SS replacing a Defiance UL with the Kelbly.
