6.5 builds ...let's see them

Not trying to hijack this thread but a lot of guys seem to be using the Leupold VX-5HD, i'm guessing people like it for a long range hunting scope....?

Its about the best long range hunting scope you can get, IF light weight hunting is your goal. It is only 19.5 oz, has a great zero stop set up, enough travel for hunting applications, and fantastic glass. If weight isn't of any concern, and your more into banging steel than hunting, there are several that would give other benefits such as more travel, or equal or somewhat better glass.

Got my 6.5SLR back today from Phx Custom Rifles. Very happy with the rifle rebuild. This is the 3rd rebuild on this action. Started life as a .243, then .250AI, then 6.5SLR, and now rebuilt as a 6.5SLR again. About 6000 rounds through the action.

my new 6.5 4s saum
Bighorn tl3
Bartlein 8 twist Sendero threaded at 22"
Manners PRS1
Triggertech special
DPT suppressor from New Zealand.

Had it chambered with the .81 FB and then had my gunsmith push the throat out so a 143 Eld-x is on the lands at 2.895. which should help with their longer bearing surface.

Not started proper load testing.
Got to 61.4 of H1000 which gave me 2.950 with 140 hybrids.
No pressure so I might see if I can reach 3000fps.

Love the build. Only thing I would change is perhaps had a very slightly lighter profile barrel.

After seeing these builds I dont why I'm even going to post mine, but here it goes.

Savage model 12 action
Criterion 26in varmint contour 8 twist chambered in 6.5 creed
Hs precision m24 stock
Vortex ps-t gen2 5-25x50 SFP MOA
Dnz game reaper tactical 20 moa mounts.

Barrel is currently at the smith getting threaded. Just got my 3 port beast brake in the mail from nathan at muzzle brakes and more so it will be a kitten to shoot here shortly.
Man that's a nice rig. What are you talking about

Had this one built for my daughter. Shoots the Berger 135 grain factory ammo per the pic. Those were first 3 shots ever shot with it. Those are holding up very nicely to 500 yards so far. Hawk Hill #2 sporter barrel with 8 twist at 22". 6.5 Creedmoor. Mcmillan Classic edge fill. Had throat set to kiss 147 eld at 2.81".

Some real good looking rigs in here. Thanks for making my wait for my SAC saum seem even longer.

300whisper,
It's a greyboe renegade. Do some research on them Ryan Macmillan owns the company From what I understand. They are Slightly heavier than a Macmillan stock but very good quality. Ships from the factory with Aluminum pillars and then I glass bedded this one earlier the Day I took the photo.
