300AX 181gr Hammer Hunter

I want one now. I know my .300WM will do what I need it to but dang 3490fps is kinda awesome.

Stick a 30" barrel on that cartridge with the 181g Hammer Hunter and there is very few things that can run with it. I don't have one right now. I replaced the barrel on mine with a 338 when it was time. I will have to have one again someday soon.

Steve

A big 30 is certainly hard to run with, that's for **** sure! I don't know if I'll go to 30" maybe meet in between at 28" that should pick up 40-50fps.

So....Hammer Hunters hit very hard!

Culled a buck off our ranch Thursday morning. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

The high velocity and smaller mass of Texas White tail didn't lend the accubonds in being very authoritative on close shots, with the hammer this wasn't the case.

You didn't say it, but I like that you made a center lung shot and the buck did not take a step.

Honestly Steve, he could have hit that deer in the toe and it would have dropped. The combo of your bullet and the velocity is was being pushed at, is nothing but devastating.
Not to hijack this post, but my mountain goat moved a total of 5 yards and dropped after being hit with your 213 gr bullet. All my guide kept telling me was how tough the goats were and how they suck up lead like they haven't been hit. But, not in my case. Both front shoulders were broken and the vitals were jello. Hammer Bullets are the real deal.
