.300 Norma magnum for hunting??

I don't know , but I am going to pull one, weigh it, inspect it and try and find out just in case it shoots lights out. N570 is pretty identifiable...... however it would tough to be 100% sure.

I used the Hornady ELD M 225gr. Found it to be too soft up close.
Can't remember the range, nothing spectacular.
Actually it's Hultafors. Hultafors and Mora passes for the same thing here. Very cheap to buy, very easy to sharpen and keep clean. I like them!

Dont take advice from hunterslife72. Hes a scammer and could possibly give bad info resulting in someone getting hurt, missing a shot, or losing game. Not to mention hurting people financially by building up his credentials so he looks more trust worthy during a transaction.

just got to 100yds and set zero stop and turrets. I like it!

Does anybody know what powder they may use in it. I am thinking it is something like N570.???

anybody take one apart and weigh?

sending, PM...Pawaters

elkhunter, it is 85*f and 85% H today, didnt shoot too many but set 200 and 300yd dope. i wish i had a few cases of this ammo!!! but at $92/20 for the same ammo in the new Berger box...? ill be reloading
Believe they're using Hogdon extreme powders, probably H1000 or Retumbo. Most ammo manufacturers, especially a match grade like ABM, would not use temp sensitive powders. And I doubt it's N570 due to price/availability. However lapua Berger vihtavuori are all under same roof now.

Doing load work up this evening with the new 300NM Moon built me. Bought 100 pcs of Peterson brass to test it out. All I can say is... DANG. This is the answer I've been waiting for! Consistent, high quality, and super tough. I wore my hand out priming them!

Here is a 5-shot group shot at 100y. 83gr of N570 pushing a 230 hybrid at a mild 2915fps. COAL: 3.600.

That is an unbeatable group as far as I am concerned ! Wouldn't change a thing ! I assume this is a heavy barreled rifle! How long and how heavy and what brand is your barrel ? I am in PA and haven't heard of Moon. Is he a gunsmith from your area ? Congratulations on the success of your new gun !
