30 sherman magnum

I drilled the tips out on my 230 Hybrids with a . 055" bit and loaded up the loads I plan to use for hunting. I wanted to make sure they would fly the same but was quite confident they would. The wind was swirly so groups moved around but Im really liking the vertical
It lost nothing to the tip drilling process.

Hey Rich
I was wondering if the Ruger 77 would work for the 30 SM. I have an older model 77 in 30-06 that is about shot out. Don't know if the bolt can be opened up, and the magazine lengthened. Just wondering if you have heard of it being done with the Ruger.

I had a client build a long action round on a Ruger a while back who had the mag box cut out and it worked well. I cant remember who it was but maybe someone will chime in.

I was back at the same target area fire forming some ss brass so decided to take a couple proof shots with the 30 S. M. I wanted to check the cold bore shot vs a follow up shot. The wind was better so though it was a good chance to check. Below are the results

I was thinking that if I could find a Wyatt's box for the Ruger I would go the 30 S.M. route. Should be able to open the bolt face to fit the magnum round.

got everything together for my 30 sherman mag and should have the gun back early next week. Thanks for all the great info. Looking forward to getting this bad boy up and running

Well, elk season starts this week and we're heading to camp tomorrow. I like to shoot long a couple days right before to make sure everything is consistent and it helps build confidence. I went out yesterday and shot one at 755 yards and went to another area today to shoot at 1163 yds. The 30 SM is ready, now, I just need some elk. Hopefully the wolves haven't run them out like last year!
