30 sherman magnum

Well then! Reamer, dies, brass good to go? Otherwise I may be headed towards 338 Norma Improved. Velocities roughly 338 Mega<33 SM<338 NMI in approximately equal steps?
There is no question that the NMI will win the velocity contest. It probably has 15 grains more capacity than even the SM which is at about 98 grains. My rifle has a 24" barrel which I expect to run approx 3050 with a 250 Berger. We'll see?

Sounds about dead center between the 338 LM and 338 WM

I started out with a 28" M24 9 twist SS Proof barrel chambered in 300PRC. I was running it at 2943fps with 225gr ELDM's and RL26. Can't remember the exact powder charge. I had a chance to get a Straight Jacket Armory chambered 28" M24 8 twist Bartlein in 30 Sherman Magnum. I am running 225grELDM'S around 3020fps in a lower node. I have been extremely happy with the 30SM for accuracy and overall performance. Something to note, I am not chasing my top end nodes in hopes that it will help extend the life of my barrel and brass. I have been trying to run a few grains under max load.
Yesterday's results running the 250gr A-Tips and RL33 were good but I did not see pressure signs even at 88.0gr. I still might run it up higher yet to see where my max will be. I would imagine that I am close.
I'll be completely satisfied with 3000 fps running 225/230s. Running them on cruise control is always a good thing but when hitting the peddle is needed, the reserve is really nice to have as well.

I think thats what one gonna do with the 250 atips. Run them over n cruise for steel. May be try one on a deer or hog just to see.

I loaded up a few more with RL33 and 250gr A-Tips from 88gr to 89.2gr in 0.3gr increase between each charge. Going to see if I hit pressure. If not I don't think I could fit much more powder into the case while seating the 250gr A-Tips at mag length. Dang RL33 is bulky. I probably could pack a little more in if I wanted to single feed them.
I loaded up a few to see how well they shoot too. 5 each at 87.3gr, 87.4gr and 87.5gr using RL33 and 250gr A-Tips in 2x fired adg brass. I'm expecting decent results even though I'm running them on the top end of the powder/velocity node. I liked it between 86.8gr-87.4gr around 2930fps.
I will post my results.
