30 nosler load data

With retumbo and the 215, I was at what I would consider a max load at 2990ish average, from a 20". Best accuracy in a ladder test would have likely been around 2900ish just judging from how I know this rifle. A 245 would likely be mid 2600 to low 2700 in my 20" for accuracy, just guessing. Add around 40-60 fps for a 22". That is with a .215 freebore....if you ran a longer freebore specifically for the 245 you could maybe do a shade better. So 2700-2775ish would be my guess for an accurate load with retumbo, a 245, and a 22". Take away probably 30-50 fps for H1k. Add it back with a longer freebore. Add 75-100ish fps and half the barrel life for N570.

Me, I'm just running a 190ish grain mono with a bc near that of a 230 berger at 2950-3000 from a 20" using Retumbo. It's nicer on my shoulder than a heavier bullet, and I'm not pushing pressure either. Lovin it.
I think I will cut one of my steel barrels and chamber another 30 nosler to 22" and see what it does over the weekend

You're getting 2960 fps with the 245 out of a 24" barrel? I just ran those numbers in Strelok, less than 6" drift at 400 with a full value 10 mph wind, very impressive with that BC.
This is why I switched to the 245's. I'll cut a chamber this weekend with my .230fb reamer and see what I get with a 22"

I've got a 22" 30 Nosler gas gun, 3035fps with a 180 Accubond, 85gr of Retumbo.
125gr Accubond @ 3510fps 92gr of Retumbo.

Obviously not the kind of bullets you plan to shoot though............

I'm waiting for Mark at Apex to let me know when he gets the 187's and 194's back in stock, would really like to test them.
I was talking with him on Monday. He said they are sorted out, but it will still be a few weeks. I have some of the initial projectiles he made that I have been testing

My two 30 Noslers at the range this past weekend. Shooting Berger 210 VLDH's pushed by RL26.

Both XP-100's.

I confirmed zero at 100 yards then took them out to 1,100 yards on steel.

I don't plan on shooting any bullet heavier than 210, 212, or 215 weight class. Likely won't shoot anything other than the Berger 210 VLDH.
