My experience with the 7mm08 has been very enjoyable. 162 ELD-M and RL-17 out of a 28" tube shooting clay pigeons at 600, and not just the big ones. One guy always takes a masonry bit and drills holes in those smaller ones, and hangs them up from fishing line ,two of three per string, from the 600 yard steel hangin iron. That is some fun shooting there! Especially when you're spotting for your friend, then take the shot right after he misses, and dust one. Good times.

Marketing. If they didn't invent new calibers. What would they have to sell.
Is the 6cm a little better. Looks like it on paper. For all practical purposes will it improve your everyday shooting. Probably not. 6br might if you shoot that style.
Barrel burner. Powder column efficiency. Blah blah. Buy what you feel is best and get some trigger time. And don't be surprised that the guy with your grandpa's caliber beats you at the prc match.

I have an LPV DBM in 223. It's probably one of the most enjoyable rifles to just bench shoot and relax that I own.

243 hands down.buy ammo at any momnpops store.i hand load so all mine are ai barrels.shoot hands down lights out.barrel burners,most people never shoot that much.kinda like the 220 swift

First, you must understand that an Encore typically can be finicky when it comes to accuracy. I've owned Encores and Contenders since the '80's. Now, understand they can be accurate (my 30-338WM 16.5" handgun bbl has been a consistant 1/2 MOA gun but only with certain loads, and my most accurate Encore I've ever owned). My bolt guns are more accurate than my Encore.
If my purpose for the gun was primarily as a benchgun, the Encore would take a back seat to a good bolt gun.
Encores make better hunting guns than bench guns typically. The barrels aren't free floated, the action requires it to be moved from the rest to simply load/unload, triggers aren't that great from the box (can be improved).
If you choose the Encore, then you'll need to educate yourself on the nuances of the gun and what typically needs to be done to that type of platform for best performance. There's plenty of info online on making an Encore shoot. Just understand the deck is somewhat stacked against you as compared to a bolt gun.
"I can get any ammo anywhere on the planet, Mars even." is a weak and over used argument to justify the use of a cartridge over another. Be better than that.

They both have the potential to launch similar 6mm bullets at similar velocities and can, by all account, burn out a barrel sooner (guess what barrels are replaceable), here's where they begin to differ: 6mm Creedmoor, as a simple neck-down and a faster rate of twist, can handle heavy-long for caliber bullets the .243 Win of the rack can't.

This is starting to look like one of them long drawn out creedmoor hate threads! At some point you have to embrace technology! I am glad new calibers come out to try and tinker with, if not you know what, we would all be shooting lame 308 win with those magic 168 SMK's. Yuck. Calibers like the 6 Creed are not to replace things like 243 they are simply a refinement on the shortcomings of those calibers!

I Kinda agree with some with the 243, it is a good round in a custom built rig with proper twist. I have never been a speed kills type and always shoot the highest BC bullet made for that given caliber (if I can get the velocity I am looking for to capitalize on the BC). However, Hornady addressed this shortcoming with the 6 Creed. It is a more efficient cartridge design, allowing use of the modern high BC bullets with the ability to feed in about any standard SA mag seated to or closely to the lands! With the same performance velocity wise as the 243, quality brass available just like 243, and factory rifles ready to roll with fast twists. Whats not to like? Most people that really like the 243 are the light bullet shooters so in that instance then most factory 243s will work for you in that aspect. But if you want to shoot 243 with high BC stuff you got very limited options in factory offerings. This is a double edged sword, if you are wanting to shoot the high speed light stuff in the creed in a factory offering you might come to realize that fast twist may not work for you either! Decisions, Decisions.
