This load has been exceptional for myself. 91.5 gr N570, new Norma cases. COAL 3.80'' Federal 215 primers. 9 twist 24'' Proof carbon fiber barrel . single digit ES.3030 fps average. 5 three shot groups at 100 yards ranged from .326'' to .515'', 3'' group at 750 yards. Rifle is a Gunwerks Magnus and ATACR 5-25 SFP.

Super impressive. What muzzle break? Has to be light so something good has to keep it from abusing you.

Would like to try it, but N570 seems to be Unobtanium right now. I have about a half a pound of Retumbo left. Been shooting 8133 in my 28, but don't really like it. RE33 is very eratic in the summer and I abandoned it. Slow powders are tough, what gives???

Break is the Gunwerks directional. The rifle has minimal felt recoil. The stock design has a lot to do with it.

What's your findings for distance to lands? These bullets are so new and expensive, not a lot of data exists. My 300 norma improved has close to same capacity as your rum. Pushes 230 Bergers @ 3090 with 90.2gr and 2965 with 87.8gr N570. I just picked up some a tips, and have been looking for data on bullet jump for them.

They are .0955'' off the lands

Did you happen to recover any bullets to see if they are expanding?

Thanks

Curious as to why a 24" 300RUM, when a 24" 300WIN or 30Nosler would be more "efficient"?

It's just a question.
I was not concerned about the 40 fps I lost vs the handling. Just a personal choice, when its time for a new barrel I will re consider barrel length. I do have another 300 RUM with a Proof CF barrel and 9.4 twist and a 26'' barrel.
