I'm thinking about swapping the upper on my Diamondback DB-15 to an upper chambered in 223 Wylde. The Wylde chambering is supposed yield better accuracy with .223 ammunition because of its shorter throat. Ideally, I would like a stainless barrel in fde finish. Grid defense offers a stainless barreled model with fde everything else. I also want to be able to close the gas system by putting an adjustable gas block on it. I intend to use a Kali Key and a Banish suppressor on this set up. The Kali Key makes an Ar like a bolt action, if you are not familiar, so no gas is needed to cycle. The Banish suppressor is not a low back pressure suppressor like a Velos or Ventum and is more designed for a bolt action than a semiautomatic ( I did not know of lbp thing before buying the Banish). I have only the Banish. I chose a Ar-15 instead of a standard bolt action because the easy ability to add on any additional accessories for night coyote hunting on the m-lok hand guard. Thank you.

I'm not sure, is there a question in there?

.223 Wylde is the usual chamber in aftermarket barrels that are not intended to be mil-spec clones. Was it me, I'd build the upper exactly how I wanted it. Read up on the nuances of assembling an accurate upper. There's an excellent series of American Gunsmith AR accuracy articles curated at The Free Library.
Buy a Kreiger, Rainier Ultra Mod2, White Oak Precision, Satern, Criterion, or any number of other mfg's premium drop-in barrel and start gathering the other parts. We all have our own preferences for those parts, can likely easily find a supporter of every brand without trying too hard. For me that's Lantac and JP for BCG's, Superlative Arms AGB's, and usually Aero for uppers. I like the Strike Ind. polymer dust covers, and nearly always plug the FA holes when present.

Yes you should. You might as well as just grab a RRA upper with .223 Wylde chanbering, they guarantee 3/4" MOA on their uppers, yep that's right. Most underrated AR out there and the best price. I have several that are all well under a MOA. I saw Optics Planet had some on sale for 550 bucks! I picked one up and it's been 3/4 moa so far, and that with bulk ammo I'm reloading. My precision. 223 is grouping almost 1/2 MOA. 5 shots minimum.

So yes do it.
