22 Cal's legal in WYO

Thanks, as that's what I figured you'd probably say, but I'd venture to also say that you're one of about 0.1% of people shooting or hunting that would say that  Have a good one as I'm outta here!

Just face the facts Topgun. You are a lazy hunter without the skill and balls to make a 300 yrd headshot. Which I consider close range. You kind of remind me of the current popular opinion in our country these days, instead of lifting yourself up and rising to the task you'd perfer to drag everyone down to your level.

Well around here about .1% would think that a couple hundred yards is long range! I'm just a regular shooter and I know my limitations, I know when I can take and make a head shot and when I should hold of or shoot them in the lungs. Far more animals are wounded by shoulder shooting than by muffed head shot and yet there is no one arguing about shoulder shooting being horrible or unethical!

About 7 years ago, not my preference but I felt comfortable enough to take a head shot on an antelope doe bedded approximately 300 yards ... DRT.

It was a blew eyed antelope - one eye blew that way and the other eye blew the other way. :):Dgun)

Hardly any meat wasted!

WELL TOPGUN ,
,IT LOOKS LIKE THERE ARE OTHERS ON HERE THAT CAN AND DO SHOT FOR HEAD AND NECK SHOTS ,,AND YOU SAY 200/300 YARDS IS A LONG SHOT .. MY RIFLES ARE ZEORED AT THOSE RANGES..BOTTOM LINE JUST AS YOU WERE TOLD ..YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO TELL ANYONE ELSE HOW TO HUNT OR SHOT BECAUSE YOU **** SURE DONT GET IT..FROM THE TIME A HEAD OR NECK SHOT IS IN YOUR SCOPE SIGHTS ,UNTIL THE TIME THE BULLET GETS THERE THE HEAD DOESN,T MOVE..IF IT IS MOVING THEN DONT SHOT.

I KNOW YOU WILL AGAIN CALL ME AND OTHERS *** HOLES ,BUT GUESS WHAT
WE HAVE OVER YOU .WE SHOT OUR WAY,, SHOT A LOT AND CAN AND DO MAKE THESE SHOTS AND NEVER LOOSE A ANIMAL..YOUR GUT SHOT ANIMALS ARE THE ONES THAT ARE LOST BECAUSE YOU COULD NOT READ THE WIND AND YOUR BULLET HIT WAY TO FAR BACK. THE END..OLD MAN THE END..lightbulb

Geez, seems as I read back on post #25 where you said: "my final answer is...". Now I see your name on posts #27, #29, #31, #34, #38, and now #61! I hope your shooting is better than your ability to count and maybe you should think about getting a room with your long range head shooting buddy chucknbach, LOL! Incidentally, we are now 5 hits shy of 2000 on this thread and you have 3 or 4 people that may agree with you and a couple said only at short distance would they attempt it---WOW, that sort of proves my point if no more have come on your side than that in that many hits!!! Also, nowhere did I say 300 yards is a long shot for me. I said a lot of people think it's a long shot and that or further definitely is to attempt a head shot IMHO. In fact, you are also full of it in your math because at 3000+ fps that a bullet might start out at means that it takes over 1/2 second to get out to 800+ yards, which is more than enough time for an animal to turn it's head or even take a step from when the trigger is squeezed. Shooting at the head will either mean a miss or worse, a bad wound, while a body shot is not going to be that far off from your point of aim to not be fatal. One last thing for you booby. In 60 years in the field I've taken over 100 deer, elk, antelope, and hogs and not lost a single one yet because I pick my shots and put them in the boiler room with the proper caliber and bullet for what I'm shooting at. Now you can come back with your 7th post since you said you were done, but unlike you I'll tell you I'm done with you and this will be my last post on this thread---guaranteed!!!

Topgun you should have taken more chances you probably would have brought home more game and been a better hunter to top it off.

For someone that has never taken a head shot I don't see how you can judge those of us that will.

60 years quite a shame as you haven't learned a **** thing and have never improved yourself.

Also, what in the hell is your obsession with how many have viewed this and who is on your or my side? I personally don't care. Don't be a *****, argue your point regardless of the amount of people you think will be with you. A true man can stand against the mob knowing he is right.

Holy cow this thread has degenerated into a mess. I am frankly a bit disappointed in the conduct of some of the guys from Wyoming. I don't get by here very often and I can live without visiting this forum in the future. Before I leave, I just want to assure the readers that the aggressive and abrasive nature of some of the posters from Wonderful Wyoming is not typical of most of us good old boys.

Well said.

Time to let this thread go.

Why are we talking about head shot on a thread about .22 cals being legalized.

You guys have ruined this thread.

From my recollection it went downhill with someone from Michigan arguing about the "ethics" of head shots and putting people down for their choices.
This is one good ole wy boy that has a low tolerence for political correctness even though the one he was trying to put down I didn't agree with. Yes this thread is trashed. Start a new one.

Warning! This thread is more than 12 years ago old.
It's likely that no further discussion is required, in which case we recommend starting a new thread. If however you feel your response is required you can still do so.
