208 or 225 ELDM

Retumbo (that's what I'm using in a 26"), H1000, Reloader 26. I'm sure there are others that work but it will likely come down to what you can find.

Retumbo was excellent in my 300 RUM. Several of my shooting mates use RL 25.

Ordered some 225s. Any powder recommendations?
I'm going to be a Nay sayer! 18 inches of 10 twist is a no go. Your rifle was designed for 180 - 208. Anything heavier and you have very low terminal velocity. I'd even question 208 out of a 18 inch. I was a long time 30-378 person originally a 28 inch barrel and 2 inch brake I later went to a 30 inch barrel and 2 inch brake. I loaned my rifle to others doing hunting all over. So it took it's fair share of big game.

I would rebarrel it longer and possibly faster twist rate.

As to powder US869 is what i used because reloader 33 wasn't out yet.

The op stated it's an 8 twist and even the 10 is fine with the 225 eldm for stability with the tip being polymer. Run the jbm calculator with an input for the polymer tip. He built this for his purpose which I'm sure includes a suppressor.

Sorry that I missed the 8 twist. I still would question 225's slower velocity

I got N570, N568, Staball HD, Retumbo, N560, IMR8133, H50BMG. I've ran a lot of Retumbo and 200gr bullets in my RUMs, wasn't sure if I needed a slower powder with the heavy bullet.

I'm sure he will be doing pretty decent for speed still. I did great with them starting at 2790 fps on deer and elk at the 1100 yard mark with a 10 twist. If I was guessing, based on other numbers from 18" rums shooting 215 bergers, it should be close to the 2800-2900 fps.

I went to an 18" barrel so with a can I'm at 26" OAL barrel length. It's a 1-8 twist cause I originally planned to run different bullets. I'm currently getting 2750fps with a 195gr Badlands SBII. I was able to go faster, but that is where the node for barrel was and I went with it this last season.

If you're comfortable with VV powders and a little dirtier barrel and less barrel life, I'd go straight to N570. It'll give you the most speed for sure. I shot them with 91gr. out of a 300 NMI. So I'd imagine you'd be closer to 100gr.
