Found some steel rod and fashioned a slip-over hanger for the 4x8 collar tie. I TIG-welded on a smaller diameter rod to stabilize the skull. After it cools I'll do a test fit, and lop off the excess rod on the back. If good, it gets a black rattle can coat.I can't wait to see it hanging. Awesome bull.
Monster!I picked up my European mount today, hand-delivered by my taxidermist from CO to NY! The skull is still wrapped for the 3 hour drive home in the back of my truck. It looks awesome! Now I have to fabricate a no-drill hanger for a collar tie in the great room.
Very nice! Did you hang it yourself? I hope you had help.I need to get longer bar or round stock to drop it down a few inches lower. Whadday'all think?
I hung it myself. I'm used to working solo on the farm. My wife watched, if that counts, lol.Very nice! Did you hang it yourself? I hope you had help.

i personally think lower.
Those wall ties are 8x8s and off limits per the wife. At this point I'm fortunate to have a mount in the house. This was the fate of the first bull I ever shot.or how's it look hanging from the lower cross beam?

EDIT: I may have to add a piece of flat bar on top to prevent rotation. We'll see.
