Took this big Tom a few days ago on my property in north Idaho.
He's been eating everything on my mountain for the past 8 weeks. I had to wait for season to start.
I recognized a pattern he developed and he became complacent. He also wasn't afraid of me or my dogs.
I was waiting for him. 110 yards with a Armalite AR-10 (T) .308, 168 gr. He still ran 50 yards with no heart or lungs.
121 pounds of killing machine. I am 5'-10", 175 pounds for reference.

Woo. That's freaking awesome. Congratulations. 👍😎

I'm itching to add to this. I got a hell of a November set up. NM mule deer November, November Elk (buddies tag) in Montana and a SD deer tag. Back to back to back. Last hurrah before work pulls me back to the east coast. Soon soon
Which unit is your mule deer hunt? I may not be able to provide any helpful information, but good luck nonetheless!

Got this old timer 4th day of season...daylight..he was in the wrong area.....

As I walked up to him......
Spotted at 1200yds..drove to bottom of mountain...grabbed small pack and rifle...
Last range was 405yds....rock pit is 400..
Done deal......buckjumped and ran 20 yds..slowed and I put crosshairs right in front of his shoulder.....2nd shot he ran a couple steps and turned towards me trotting downhill....fell dead behind a line of sage.....2 shots....
