Got this Western Oregon Coastal Blacktail yesterday. Nice big bodied deer and a decent rack to boot. Not a LR Buck, he was just 156 yards and bedded when I spotted him. The daughter has 2 tags in her pocket still so the hunt continues.

In the kind of country you were hunting, that probably is long range.

My longest kill in the West Oregon coast range is 1030 yds, and several from 650-950. That particular area where I killed the 4 pt. Is "smaller" country but some areas lend to longer shots.
