You'll be fine with that...even up to 215sOk, it sounds like a 10 is good for me to, wanting to shoot up to 210s
Unless you want to shoot monos. The 205 badlands SBDII's require an 8.5 twist. That is getting somewhat specialized though.....You'll be fine with that...even up to 215s
I completely agree. Stay within the recommended twist or faster for whatever particular mono you chose recommends. I've always found the Berger Stability Factor Calculator helpful for determining proper twist rate, bullet, and velocity combination.Unless you want to shoot monos. Why not? If he's getting 3100 in a 20" barrel on a non modified case I should be able to get it with 3-4 grains more powder capacity and only 10 grains heavier bullet. Not out of a 20"!
Those 10gr in bullet weight can make the difference, but could be close. Why not? If he's getting 3100 in a 20" barrel on a non modified case I should be able to get it with 3-4 grains more powder capacity and only 10 grains heavier bullet.
ADG makes it already. I've got 200 pieces of it. Would be hard pressed thought to get 3000 FPS with a 208 though. Maybe 2900. I'm just starting load development with a 200.20X Berger. Hoping to get to 2900.Hmmmm, I just saw where ADG will be making 300 WSM brass.
ADG makes 6.5 and 7 SAUM brass too. Just neck it up to 30 cal.Playing around in Quickdesign and Quickload it looks like the WSM has a ~125fps advantage over the SAUM. But it would have to be run in a medium length or long action to seat the bullet above the neck/shoulder junction. I don't know if I want to jump into the pool of limited receiver, bottom metal, stock options and I'm finding very few stocks that are inletted for a medium action.
If I did the SAUM, I *should* be able to use the same bushing dies for the 6.5 SAUM and 300 SAUM provided I make the improved case dimensions the same (except the bore diameter of course). I can also set the 178 ELDX @ 2.965" and use either a 3" internal box or the Hawkins Hunter DBM.
All advantages lean toward the SAUM for me but I like speed as long as it's accurate and the WSM does have the advantage of ADG brass.
Still pondering……..
Yeah I know. I'm just kinda picky about properly headstamped brass.ADG makes 6.5 and 7 SAUM brass too. Just neck it up to 30 cal.
I would rather do same also! If I was in a bind would be another story.Yeah I know. I'm just kinda picky about properly headstamped brass.
I'm sure I could get over it though. ADG is what I will be running in my 6.5 SAUM.
