169 Hammer vs 180 VLD vs 195 EOL. Proven 7mm Loads.

I just posted some info from my recent trip to South Africa regarding hammers/bergers.

I've historically used the Berger 180 in my 28 nosler with great success. Shot 169 hammers in Africa in 28 nosler and also tested a dual load in 300 PRC 214 Hammer/215 berger.

From my learnings/and just my opinions:
For my 28 Nosler -- I'll continue to use 180 VLD on all game up to sheep/mule deer size from 0-1000 yards. If my wife wants to shoot a large animal (elk, moose, eland), I feel comfortable loading the 169 HH and limiting her range to 600. This is partially bc she doesn't shoot enough to take longer shots and partially because I still have questions about terminal performance on Hammers at longer distances....I need more data.....hoping to kill some pigs in texas from 700-1000 this fall.

On my 300 PRC, I have a very nice dual load I can use interchangeably with the 214 Hammer and 215 Berger. For large game, I will use the hammer to 400 yards and the berger for anything beyond.

As I noted in the referenced thread, this is by far the most honest real-world bullet assessment per intended purpose I have seen in a long time.

I am 16 with a 100 yd zero. I thought at first my scope was not true on its clicks. My gun smith checked and verified my clicks and he said that it was one of the better scopes that he checked and said it was good.

It's pretty easy to do shoot a tall target test to verify your scope tracking and at the same time check ur scope level.

Why would you think your scope was off? If you're shooting a 195 berger at 3270FPS. That's the given data. Unless you're not actually running a chrono and just trying to true your velocity instead of your BC to your down range impacts. And you definitely don't need a gunsmith to check scope tracking. I'll be honest. I don't believe you at all lol. You can't provide any load data because it's top secret, and your special throat depth ect. I'm not buying it haha.

Because nobody else was shooting that flat.

By the way there is 2 of us on this forum now that is shooting similar.

You're just proving my point. If you KNEW your gun was shooting 3270 FPS, you wouldn't be surprised that it's shooting flatter than the guy next to you who is only shooting 3030 lol
