We walked up a canyon near town this morning. Twenty minutes or so into the hunt, dog picked up the scent, a few seconds later the 1930's Remington did it's thing and we had our bird! I dearly love hunting upland birds with my dog and a good shotgun. Can't use lead shot where I hunt, so out of deference to the old barrels I use bismuth. It's expensive but sure swats 'em down.

TRULEY AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bird Hunting is dear to my heart and having a good hunting companion or 3-5 dogs makes the difference. Since Bird Hunting here in the SE is gone my next best hunt is yotes.
Thanks for sharing!

A man and his bird dog hunting the uplands! You can't find a more enjoyable thing IMO! Makes me miss my times afield with my dog. We would hunt from northern Montana to Texas and New Mexico just the two of us traveling and camping in a cab over camper. GREAT times and GREAT memories!
Enjoy your life together with your little hunting bud!
