Hey guys, I'm racking my brain here, I've put together dozens of guns bf, but after assembling everything I pull the charging handle and the bolt stops halfway of the ejection hole. I excitedly threw a brand new bolt into it and it went in just fine, but will not come back out. It's Like the key isn't open all the way, I tried to mortar it, nothing, I took barrel off and put a punch on it nothing…any thoughts??

So I got it figured out, I knocked the pin out of the forward assist and the bolt falls out, it's catching on the assist. The key turns fine, but I made sure to oil it and flip it 1 million times..
Now I've tried to reinstall FA several times and 3 different assists and it still catches..

if you tried a bunch of different forward assists, and same problem, then it could be that the forward assist machining in the upper might be slightly off. But, remedied with your "custom fitting". Should be fine since usually the FA is something that stays put for the life of the upper. Just keep in mind if at some point in the future you decide to upgrade or replace with an aftermarket FA, you might have to do the same mod.

It need some work done on it, compare to another one. Where is the upper from?

If the 5 FA'a all hung up I think you should try a different bolt. When ever I have to "modify" something I always try to modify the cheapest part.
Kind regards

Add marvel oil soak barrel up several hours/day tap out with wooden dowel,if removed polish feed and barrel lugs. Check bolt fit by hand, not intack with spring jamming in place should fit snug and a light Tap rubber mallet should seat and lock and open with charging handle ,light rubber mallet GENTLY TAP. Also bolt lightly lubed internally/external. Check should work. Smooth surfaces should assist. Dont keep jamming work surfaces.

I changed to nickel boron bolt polish and lubed barrel lugs and ramp lugs properly hand fit before trying to let spring jam it in and getting stuck
