7 PRC velocity

I know. Don't believe everything you see on YouTube and the internet. I've hunted elk for 30+ years and the longest shot I've ever taken is 450 yards and that was one time.

Elk generally don't hang out in the open and if they do…it isn't for very long.

I took it out to 600 today. Im pleased with the results...

My groups at 500 yards were .61 MOA and .73 MOA

at 600 Yards was .39 MOA

Nice, off the ground and a day pack or a bipod while laying on the deck?

Contrary to popular belief, the VAST majority of elk taken out west are at a range less than 400 yards. Your load is fine…go hunting.

Amen to that! I'll only add that on public land there is a lot of places where one doesn't want to shoot a elk at the longer ranges as someone else hunting there may well beat on to the down critter and tag it. Just saying.............

That happens???

What state are you hunting and will it be on private or public?

Guided or on your own?

Indeed it does

Nice shooting by the way
That is wild, I would not have guessed that!

Thank you, I have only tried shooting past 400 yards one other time and it didn't go very well. I didn't have the data needed to get past 300 (no chrono at the time-- just guess work). I was very pleased with how well the rifle shot

We will be in Montana-- my buddy lives out there and he is taking me out. Not sure yet if it will be private ranch land or public. He has a few ranchers that let him hunt on occasion, but its never a guarantee
