Which cartridge for a Remy 700 long mag bolt face

PRC=Profit Reaping Cartridge.
Yup, the 7 PRC is a,.. MODERN, Accurate,.. Profit Reaping Cartridge,. FOR, SURE !
Berger and Hornady,. 180's, launched at, 2.950 to 3,005 FPS is pretty Descent Velocity WITHOUT, the Silly, UN-Necessary,.. Belt !
AND, VERY Accurate, Factory Ammo, IS available, at MOST, Gun Shops / Stores.
WHY, in the Year 2024 Would anyone, want to "Build", a New Custom, Rifle WITH,.. an, 60+ year Old, Antique, Belted, Cartridge ???
And Hey, I Loved My, 7 mm Rem Mag.,.. "BACK in, the Day" ! BUT,. I,. WOULDN'T Build ,. a New One,.. TODAY !
My son LOVES His, Tikka / Proof barreled, Rifle in 7 PRC ( it's,. Deadly and Accurate ! ) and PLEASANT to Shoot with, the PVA Back Country, Brake !

"60 year old , antique, belted cartridge"
LMAO!!
Oh God that's good!!

And here I thought you knew me, Lefty.

45 Colt - 1873
45-70 Govt. Roughly same time.
7X57 Mauser - 1893
9mmX19 Para bellum (aka 9mm Luger)- 1901
45ACP - 1906
250-3000 Savage - 1915
257 Roberts - 1920s
257 Roberts AI - can't find date PO Ackley worked on this.
25-06 - first wildcatted in the 1920s.
30 M1 Carbine - in service 1942
257 WBY Mag - designed 1944, released 1946.
270 Win - 1925
280 Rem - 1957
7mm Weatherby Magnum - 1940

Heck with the 7mm Rem Mag coming out in 1962, I only have a few cartridges that are newer.
Heck the 7mm-08 is 44 years old.

I'd absolutely build a 7RM over a 7prc if those were my choices. But if I'm building a 7 is gonna be a big 7.

Now back on track to our regularly scheduled program.
O.P. build a big.257 or big 6.5

Best of luck
Oh, you gotta define a "big 7".

To me, "big 7" are....
7mm LRM
7mm -300 Weatherby
7mm Dakota
7mm RUM
7mm STW
7.21 Lazzeroni Tomahawk ( the WSM version of the Lazzeroni line)
7mm-378 Weatherby
7.21 Lazzeroni Firebird ( think 338 Lapua Magnum necked down to 7mm with an increase in pressure.)

The 7.21 Tomahawk necked to 25 caliber would be a screamer!
Gotta open up the bolt face though.

Nothing Wrong with, the 7 MM Rem Mag.,. I just WOULDN'T be, "building" a New Custom Rifle with THAT Cartridge, as it's 2024 already and All the New Guys, are BUYING,. 6.5 and 7 MM,. PRC's and they CAN Buy, a LOT of, appropriate, Accurate, FACTORY,. Ammo without, HAVING to,.. Reload.
Just My 2 cents and 1/2 of the People, are, NOT, selling them ( as that is, MISS info, from, BS,. internet, chit,. talk ).
My Son and Grandson, BOTH,. like their, "Choices" of, PRC's !
