The guy who's DL is in the photo isn't hard to track down at all. I'm betting he doesn't have a clue who Darla is. What was the area code of the phone all your communication with the "seller" was vs the ship to address of the MO and the DL address?

A different address and after I sent it I have been searching and found it's a different name where I sent the money. I I reckon I got burned said to say. Don't guess you can trust anyone these days

WTB adds are a scam magnet. Posting one is almost a guarantee a scammer will contact you. I'm not saying don't post them, just know you are gonna sort thru some shady stuff. Crazy how good some of these guys are getting also. Some good photoshop jobs out there that they can produce in minutes if asked.

Sounds like a scam to me-- you supposedly talked to some guy on the phone who claimed to be a friend of a member-- he gave you a name,dl,and address of someone he happens to have a pic of his dl--- then tells you to send $ to somebody else at an entirely different address ....lots of red flags.

I'd look up the name and address you sent the $ to

Exactly what was said above! I would never send a photo with all my information name, date of birth address that has to be someone else's information to give it away like that.

If you had asked to call him he would have told you he was mute and can't talk on the phone. This scam has been around the block. The confidence photos of the badges are a nice touch though.

Has the MO been cashed? If not, can'x it.

The string-along communication method of "I'll send the tracking tomorrow" for 4-5 days ensures time for the payment to clear and be turned into cash before the sender gets too suspicious.
Then all comms cease and they move on to scam the next person who posted their phone number on a public worldwide classifieds forum. Standard m.o.

Sorry buddy. The minute the money order was made out to a different person , mail somewhere else etc , i wouldve walked.

That old guy in the DL pic is either dead or sent that info out on another forum and the scammer snagged it. There are websites where these sh@&heads pass this info around.

Maybe his son is non-binary , receiving gender affirming care and is now….. drum roll …… Darla !!!!!

I know it sucks but nothing I can do now I guess I learn to be more cautious.

Sorry man, but the money is gone.

I wouldn't put your number out on the net anymore and would be very cautious with WTB ads. Generally these tend to attract scammers.
