Anyone from pa

So. west PA is a great place to hunt a lot of farm land and public hunting ground available. I-79 and the Turnpike there you can really get around to W.V. Maryland and other areas in PA. Good Hunting! short or long it is there.

Jumping in this thread. From Uniontown, moved to N Va 20 years ago. Come home all the time and still hunt a farm in Addision. Looking for a sweet spot to g hog hunt. My 13 year old loves to hog hunt. I don't need a dear, bear, turkey spot. But would love a fun safe place in Fayette or Greene to whack some hogs. Moving back in 5 years after retirement. Never felt like VA was my home. Go Steelers!

I'm from western PA...around Clarion area. My dad has a farm out there and we get to shoot anywhere from 25-700 yards. Goin from hill to hill:)! Unfortunately I'm stationed out on Fort Dix, NJ and the longest range I have access to is Range 14 that goes to 200. Which is really dissapointing because I just bought a Savage 10 FCP-K .308 gun)and haven't got the chance to stretch her legs yet! It does shoot nice one hole groups at 100 and tight little quarters at 200...

I am originally from PA. Spent most of my deer seasons in the Hammersley Wilderness Area of Kettle Creek. Used to love still hunting in the big woods after the first three days. That was until the PGC put their point restrictions in place. There was no need for Gary Alt's divine intervention in the management of the Northern Tier deer herd. Mother Nature was regulating the population just fine. You Pennsylvanians owe it to yourselves to visit the Allegheny Co. Sportsmans League website and read about John Eveland.

Just as a heads up!
If you are looking for a gunsmith and you are around Zeiglerville, PA...Don't take your stuff to him. I don't trust ANY gunsmith that will stand there and tell me that you cannot install a Savage 111 barrel on a Savage 110 reciever. But, that is just my opinion. He might very well be a great gunsmith, just doesn't know squat about a Savage.

Washington Pa here. Anyone know of any 500yds+ ranges south of Pittsburgh?

McDonald Sportsmen's Association

They go to 600 yards. Shot there many times. The range is set up for BPCR with butts at 200, 300, 385 and 500 meters. They do have a 600 yard butt.

The range is flat and on a recovered strip mine. It is open. Mirage can be tricky and the wind doping a challenge. All in all, a nice range. They have a lot of metal plates to set up on the rails for practice.
