My gf got some wag bags as part of a survival kit christmas gift from her boss, I had to explain what they were. She was a hiker but they weren't a thing back east when she was doing it a lot. I'm pretty sure I heard her whisper "rather die in a fire."

Spending weeks of time in the Mt Hood and Mt Jefferson wilderness, and volunteering as a Mt Hood Steward, a lot of people would start out with their virtue signalling, and then leave the bags alongside the trail. WTH? Many would also burn their trash in their fires, in the middle of dry season.
The authors got it all wrong about shagging on a sleeping pad. The trick is to know how to pick a spot to pitch your tent.
