Polar bear is easy to huntA polar bear would a bit tricky. You pretty much have to jump thru hoops to be able to shoot one. Not sure the particulars. But definitely a tough hunt.
I said in a previous post to hunt Africa last, but just make sure that you go because it will absolutely capture your soul. Every hunter should go to Africa at least once. Good luck on that!
Do the Rigby, after all, it is Africa.
Have hunted Africa with a 416 Rigby (shooting 400 grain Barnes X @ 2,400 fps) and it is an awesome round. Just thumps big animals, although I shot a cape buffalo in the chest at 30 yards and he looked at me with a "that's all you got" expressionMy dream hunt has always been to hunt a big tusker in Africa. There is just something about standing head to head with a large bull elephant with only 30-40 feet separating you to find out what you are really made of. Can you make the shot when it counts? My rifle: any good double rifle in the legendary .416 Rigby.
I'll be hunting with Spey Creek Trophy Hunting. Bought the hunt last year at one of the Dallas Safari Club's fundraisers. Owner is John McBride. He went there to hunt and liked it so much he bought it and now he has dual citizenship. He and his wife and son Wyatt run it.I was in Kaikoura last year with South Pacific for Red Stag.
Who are you hunting with?
Still have mine owned for 40 years, used in Africa. Shot everything from Impala to Cape Buffalo. A fine rifle!!!Interarms Mark X Whitworth Express .375 H&H hands down. Cheers
Sold my rifle off many years back, it was a fabulously accurate rifle with anything I put in it from 235gr to 300gr's and one of the most comfortable .375 H&H's I ever shot... "DON'T" ever sell it, my friend. CheersStill have mine owned for 40 years, used in Africa. Shot everything from Impala to Cape Buffalo. A fine rifle!!!

Don't get your hopes up - almost all stags, and all of the big ones, are shot behind high fences. You can hunt them fair chase, but those stags are similar to Scotland stags. If you want free range in New Zealand, focus on tahr, chamois, and some of the feral critters.New Zealand red stag with my 35 whelen Forbes or 35 whelen Barrett Fieldcraft
