Your dream rifle

For me it would be a switch barrel off of a TL3, still haven't found the stock but leaning towards a foundation. Have one really nice scope on it and be able to switch out from .223, to 6 creed, to .270 wsm for hunting.

Beautiful guns! Wow, if they were mine, they would all have scratches from barbed wire down the butt stock. Nice things and I are not compatible.

I tend to be the same way. Even when I am very careful with stuff, it gets dinged. Life is not fair.

I had a custom .308 Norma magnum nicely blued in a walnut stock hanging on the wall in the garage. Also I had a 427 Ford engine short block waiting for more work. I was having a garage sale and my brother came by. I asked him if he would take care of things while I went to town and got something to eat and brought it back. When I got back he handed happily handed me 150 bucks and told me he sold the gun off the wall for $75. Then he told me he sold the engine for $75 and threw in my fire extinguisher because they were going to use it in a race car. I asked how they got the engine loaded. He told me four guys got together and put it in a pickup.

I could hardly believe my ears. Neither of those items had a price tag on them because they weren't forsale.

I had it built in '89. The only thing that I would change would be a SS action....which wasn't available at the time. Knocking about 8 or 10 ounces off of the weight would be nice....but I'd probably need to "tough'n-up a bit"! memtb

when I first saw this my heart raced. what would be my dream gun? then I caught myself thinking of 4 or 5 guns all at once.. so I had to slow the roll of the dyslexia in my brain and start off with what would be my dream caliber, I came up with two, 27 Nosler and 277 H Mag(necked down 7 R/M to .277"),
I just love the Winchester receivers so it would have to be a "classic model" Win 70, Dakota 76, Kimber 8400, or similar.
Barrel: 26" 1:7" or 1:8" twist Bartlein, Hart, Lilja, McGowen, or Krieger barrel; muzzle .850"/0.875".
long lead for the 170 grain class VLD's and heavy monos.
The barrel and bolt definitely need to be spiral fluted (barrel flutes counter to rifling)
Three Baffle muzzle brake,
I might just go for a detachable magazine.(jury is still out on this)
The stock has to be a strict no cheek piece sporter.. low comb.
I do love the look of a hand rubbed walnut stock. I also love the look of a well stained laminate stock.
A Winchester with anything but a duel dovetail or weaver style rings and bases just does not look right.
the trigger absolutely has to be either the original M-70 or a Jewell. set for 2# break
metal finish: mix of grained and bead blast. receiver all bead blast, the flutes in the barrel, bolt body, and bolt handle bead blast. the rest grained to a 800/1,000 grit sand paper.
blued metal looks awesome.
Scopes: S&B, Kahles, or Night Force.
Magnification 4-16, 4-14, 3-15, 4-20, or 5-25.
Reticle: illuminated and W/ Horrus #58/9 or T-3

I think I might need two of these.. one to put on the wall and one I would hunt with.
the one I hunt with would be Cera-Koted high abrasion Concrete, the stock would be Chet Brown's best sporter in a hardwoods camo paint job, bi-pod, and the scope would have to be wrapped in hardwoods camo tape with a 4" sun shade.

Mind if I laugh? At least you got some coin, my little brother would have packed up after the first 75, went and bought some weed, came back and gave crap away.

l wouldnt want to be rude to the poor smelly people but l do prefer quality wallnut. l just cant stand the smell of cheep plastic things that are called something along the lines such a tactical. but l do not find them very prectical for propper hunting, as thay are terrebly badly thought of for shooting off hand at moveing targets. SO kind Sir anything like these would do very nicely, thank you very much. 375 H&H would suit my needs better rather than a .600 Nitro. l mean a nice gentlemens 30-06 would be lovely if ever so possible.

Converted a 303 British in 1973 where I made the stock out of a beautiful piece of American walnut
Just love the look and feel of a nice wooden stock
That is just me

A couple of mine. Top rifle is a Cooper Custom Classic in 25-06 with 26" barrel. The bottom rifle is a Schultz and Larsen Victory in 6.5-284 Norma also with a 26" barrel.
