With 1000 dollars what rifle would you buy and WHY?

The Tikka action is too short for a 3.700 cartridge unless you have a way to modify the magazine and possibly the ejection port.
Doesn't Tikka have 4 different length actions?
Mine is a 28 Nosler.
For pleasure, another Savage or Tikka is a no brainer for me as well. However, for investment, I'd opt for a Ruger Mini-14 or a JM stamped Marlin lever only because their value is heading through the roof.
to my knowledge, its all the same action for centerfire with a spacer in the magazine and a bolt stop for the shorties. I could be wrong, but that is how I understood it. So their longest is only good for 3.340" cartridges. Hence no Ultra Mags and similar sized stuff.
@Silverback7. Back in 2011 I would have bought a Weatherby Vanguard. But if you are still around, what did you buy?
Looks like he moved over to the Hide in 2012 and never came back!
