I have a rem 700 .243 coming and it will have a 8.5-25 leupold on it, I have badger rings on the way and ordered a badger zero cant of non 20 moa base..........have I made a mistake not getting the 20 moa model, I only want to shoot to 500-600 yards tops with this set up.

Being in Australia it's a pain in the behind to send it back etc.

PC ,
Pay the extra and get the varmint hunter's reticle on your Leupold and it won't be a problem . With a little research on external ballistics of your loads and a little fine tuning of zero range or Leupold's suggested power settings you will find it very close at ranges to 500 yards. Not so hot if using VLD's but your Remmy won't shoot them with a 10 inch twist anyway .

BC,

I had already chosen the Varmint Hunter Recticle....it looks like a ripper !!

For past 500 yards I will shoot the .300 RUM.

that scope will have at least 65MOA total elevation, and probably closer to 80+ so you will be GTG /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
