Why

"
Personally, I cannot see how hoarding has that much of an effect compared to the amount of an item manufactured. There is only so much an individual can buy and store for personal use. There is also only so much a manufacture can make and they are going to focus on the products that make them the most amount of money.
The real cause of the shortage is that there are millions of NEW SHOOTERS/RELOADERS and NO NEW MANUFACTURES."

If you do not think hoarding matters, just think about the toilet paper shortage of a short while ago.............................................

What is 8#'s LRT? Can't be powder for that price. I'm assuming from the time you bought it the first time and the second time the price increased, so you return it and get the refund of what you paid but when buying again you pay the new price.
Yep Powder,Ram Shot LRT great powder for the 300 win I got 2970 with 220 Gr. Hornady's ,very low pressures,in the 6.5 crp out of a 24" barrel it pushes a 147 Hornady at 3082,the loads I tested had a S.D. of 2.42 fps, great long rang paper load ,like 1000-17000 yrds, my 75 year old eyes that's about it. Hard Head

When you bought it, you probably paid with a credit card/debit card. The store paid credit card fees on that transaction. Then you came back to return it, and you expect all of your money back, so the company gives it to you... yet they don't get their fees they paid back. Then you come back and decide you want to buy the same thing again 45 minutes after you return it. They sell it to you again, and pay fees on it again, not to mention in most instances they have to do all of the work to re-inventory the items you returned and/or take a loss on the returned item because it's not "new" anymore.

All the jacking around you caused, guaranteed the company made zero money, and certainly lost money while dealing with you.

It's behavior like you've exhibited that drives brick and mortar stores into insolvency and ensures large scale outfits such as Amazon thrive.

Regarding your inability to find ammo/components... I suggest you start evaluating the future you desire and begin bargaining with it now, so you don't have to run around blaming everyone else for what you don't have 5 years from now.

I purchased nine months ago a 300 wsm from a friend who needed money. Still trying to find some bullets or even some brass to reload. I am patient and know they will show up eventually. These are some different times thanks to current regime and the political covid flu.

there has been a lot of Hornady at our Scheels here in Appleton, Wi. powder is in supply ,brass has been strange stuff ,like super short mag,7mm mag,and pistol brass, bought 800 rds. of 45 acp brass at a estate sale for 20 bucks, all winchester, primers at the gun shows around here but no 6.5 prc brass all the Super long range guys are buying it before I see it. My gun dealer told me there are a lot of scams on the internet, becarefull. When it comes to ordering I let him do it then pay him in cash.,hard Head p.s Scheels will send to you , also chec Titan reloading here in Hartford ,Wi. lots of Bullets and brass at different times!

It's not supply. The manufacturers all say they are producing at their max. (Though they say they aren't adding capacity.)

It's not the Gub'mint. No new restrictions on the books.

It's demand. Two-pronged demand.
1) Sadly, yes, hoarder/gougers.
2) Millions of new shooters, most of whom like burning through hundreds of rounds every session (as opposed to old-school, make that Box of ammo last!)

(Though they say they aren't adding capacity.)
Who's going to pay for all that extra capacity when the market crashes in a couple of years? Just wait a year for the pan et circenses brigade turn the wheel to another news cycle and we'll be back to shelves flooded with garbage 9mm and 5.56, more boxes on the shelf than you can shake a stick at, H4350 discounted by the keg, primers will still be 10 cents each but that's because a greenback will be worth what a quarter was last year.

And no one complaining today will buy the components that sit there and collect dust. Because WHY buy it now, it's EASY to get! Always there when I need it. Spend the money on the new rifle or the new truck or the new boat. Then the wheel turns, and somehow people aren't prepared for anything again.

Shocking how the people who make a lifestyle of being unprepared get caught in the cycle of unpreparedness.

I have every thing I need except brass,I have 20 cases, pulled the bullets from my shelles box of hornady except for 3 to use ase a base for case head expansion, have 12 rounds to touch off Wednesday and then it will be put away till brass is available, THEN my .45 1911 Double stack comes out more than enough brass powder primers and bullets as I cast have 200#s of lead then powder Coated and Enforcer under neath a 230 gr. Tunicate cone and it will hit a bowing pin all day long at 150 yds,IF I do my part! Why the Double stack.....love the fatter grip, Hard Head
