Why shoot a sissy rifle?

OK, a little bit of history here so you can sleep easier just knowing the background.

Those pictures remind me of my high school principle. Two things he did not tolerate on male students was long hair and an un tucked shirttail. If he walked up to you in the hall and told you to get a haircut and don't come back until you do, He meant it. Shirttails were tucked on the spot. Or you got to meet the paddle. The only thing I never understood about him is that he never carried a pocket knife. Why would I know that? Because he would borrow mine 2-3 times a week. Times have surely changed. I went to a private school and rode the bus there until I got my drivers liscense. Every Friday morning I boarded the bus with my Remington 870. I would give it to the principle when I got to school. Then get it back after school and ride with a friend to my grandparents house so I could go deer hunting on Saturday. I may not have been allowed to do this with a Creedmore. Much too powerful and way to distracting because you know "The Chicks Dig It". Plus I'm sure the principal would not have approved of the Man Bun.

Turpintine21, this sounds a bit familiar.

The public school that I attended always had a Sr. Day near the end of the school year.

I remember the Sr. Day activities which happened during my Junior year.

Several (about 6 or 8) brought their horses ……horse races on the old practice field, and then there was the chase. Several riders were the bad guys, being pursued and shot at with handguns shooting blanks. I can't even imagine that happening today!

When I first moved to a small town in Wyoming during the late '80's, the school parking lot was stacked with pick-up trucks…..many with the windows rolled down with rifles or shotguns clearly visible in the back window gun rack!

Now the preferred cartridge by "mature males" (?) is the formidable 6.5 Manbun!

My …..how times have changed! memtb
