Why shoot a sissy rifle?

Anything I can do to participate with the research? Inquiring minds are wanting to know on this one.

To be clear I am interested in both subsonic loads as well as full house loads. I would expect bullet selection & velocity need to be factored in.

If you've seen any of my posts, you've likely deducted that I'm very opinionated…..on d@m^€] near any and every topic. Even if "not" knowledgeable on the subject!

After extensive research , about 5 minutes , I've concluded that in a rifle it could be considered an adult cartridge when used for it's intended purpose.


If chambered in a semi-auto handgun….. it would be interesting. Though, I don't think that it will replace the 9 mm Parabellum as a desirable handgun cartridge! I'll leave it at that! memtb

Well this is the thread that I started and it's for lovers and hater's of the 6.5 creedmoor. I'm pretty confident that all of us that have or had one knows how others feel about it.
I'm not the least bit bothered by the comments, memes or videos. I actually get a kick out of it. Maybe it's because I am older and can care less what others think?
If someone is that easily offended or bothered by posts from some mean 6.5 hater's they should probably shoot a different cartridge.
I'm keeping mine.

I was one of those 6.5 CM haters for years until I started having shoulder and neck problems. I loved shooting my 300 win mag and 300 wby mag but not anymore. I now love shooting my 6.5 CM. Way less recoil, half the powder needed per load and I am still dropping whitetails out to 1,000 yds.

Basically the reasons I chose the 6.5. I haven't used mine for deer yet and in my neck of the woods a 300 yard shot is long.

I do hand load. I have a good assortment of projectiles available but have only loaded 140 eldm and 140 BT so far.
I've been using my 7-08 for so many years it's tough to go deer hunting without it.
Kind of like a old faithful hunting dog.

I've been using my 6.5 CM for 5 years or so. Here in Ky almost all your shots are going to be under 300 yd and the 129 gr rounds I am using are more than adequate for white-tail deer and the recoil is non-existent in my opinion. It's almost surreal how I have total focus on the shot placement without any thought of recoil. I believe it's a great starter gun for that reason. My son took to the 6.5 CM like riding a bike. He had a couple early flinches and then boom... smooth as can be after that. And for me that is plus because I want him to learn to stalk prey and be able to bring it down shooting offhand like I do. It makes for a better experience in my opinion and builds confidence.

Did some shooting with my 6.5 Creedmoor and went in the house to get a drink, came back out and looked through the scope to see a dead groundhog in the snow 210 yards from the end of the barrel. I'm not saying my 6.5 Creedmoor shot itself but there it was!!!

Maybe just the sheer sight of my Creedmoor was the cause of death?

I have a box of these but haven't got around to working on a load for them yet.

I hunt with a .243... coyotes to deer. It's big enough, powerful enough, flat shooting enough, has way less than enough recoil, is accurate enough (under 1 MOA with factory loads). I could see getting a .22 Creed, 6 ARC, etc., for range shooting. I don't have to prove my manhood with the caliber of my rifle, and I've shot .50 BMG (rifles and the M2).470 Capstick, .460 Weatherby Magnum, etc., on down. Good on ya.
