Actually, if you read through the thread, you will see multiple examples of people taking less than perfect shots on deer and elk and still killing them just fine.
Noted. I kind of ran out of gas on that thread after a while. I'll take your word for it and stand corrected. Who knew…..?? I never considered my Savage 110 Storm in .223 to be such a formidable big game getter !! Tell you what though, me in big bear country with just my .223 would be a good equivalent to " Naked and Afraid " !! But that's just me.

EVERYONE knows you just have to be close with the 6.5CM. The sound alone is good enough.

Now I understand it's popularity…..with the cost of bullets, "sound kills" makes perfect sense! I just hope that some of the meat is salvageable when this method is used! 😁 memtb

And…..some are wounded just fine! 😉 But, they rarely post that on forums! ☹️ memtb

Don't want to spend a ton of time taking away from the excellent humor of this thread, but it is my belief that just as many are wounded with bigger cartridges and also not shared. People don't like to admit their mistakes.
In fact, us small cartridge guys are probably the minority, so basic statistics should prove out that more are wounded by bigger cartridges.

But again, no need to rehash this here. I am a firm believer in shoot what you are most comfortable with, whether it be big or small, wood or carbon, blued or stainless, suppressed or not, because at the end of the day, the goal is to have fun and kill stuff.

I believe that it meets the minimum standard! 😉 Though, I need to do more research! memtb
Anything I can do to participate with the research? Inquiring minds are wanting to know on this one.

To be clear I am interested in both subsonic loads as well as full house loads. I would expect bullet selection & velocity need to be factored in.

All good. Though I generally like to consume what I am killing. Thus my experience is that i get more in the meat pan when shooting a round that is adequate for the task at hand. On the flip side, some projectiles seem to diminish the return due to, too much damage.
