Why shoot a sissy rifle?

I recently built a 10.5" 6.5CM pistol for an upcoming mammoth hunt in Siberia. I'm getting 3650fps with the 143's.....not sure what you guys are doing wrong with those low numbers and high SD's

Another trick I've learned to save meat, shoot behind the animal.... the ensuing crater will ensure a quick death when it falls in the hole after being knocked silly by the blast wave from the mighty Creed. And that's running suppressed!

I'd like to hear what powder everyone is using in their T. rex killing rifles.
I've heard a few mention RL26 but that's not possible unless it's on your shelf now.
Anyone else using Ramshot hunter?
Honestly, I'm still shooting factory ammo. I got a bunch with the rifle package, and it seems to shoot all of it (even cheap federal) really well. I'm all set up to load for it, just haven't got around to it.

Just noticed. Looks like a pellet rifle. 😆
Yah, but its really a high end custom gentleman's break barrel built just for me. Full disclosure - the barrel broke once when I fired at a monster killer bee with some extra hot loads. Kinda risky, but hey, the killer bees disappeared from the whole continental US. Worth it. Great smith was able to put it back together into a radical break-barrel sleeper gun that kinda looks like a pellet rifle. It's a real kick getting unsuspecting guys to shoot at tin cans with it and ***** themselves when it goes off. Took it to an ELR comp once and almost won the match with a "pellet" rifle. That was way cool to see the guys with their Barretts tryin to medicate their egos.

I'm in the same boat, it performs more than adequately with a couple of factory loads and the suppressor mounted. I have H4350 to start with, and am wondering how Varget will work with 140gr-class bullets as a buddy's 6.5x47 is very accurate with it.

Yep, and it excels at taking game in a comfortable package as well. Try it and report back. ;)
Personally, I don't think that I will spend any money on a 6.5 CM just to test it out. I don't have any shooting buddies that own one either. I suppose I could ask around the gun club. Someone is bound to have one, but why? I already know it is a great target cartridge if in a good rifle. I don't shoot game over 300 yards, and much prefer 200 so I might just as well stick to my Tikka T3x .270 which I know and trust since shooting a 6.5 creed won't prove anything to me. At hunting ranges out to 600 yards the 270 still reigns superior, and now we can add the 6.8 Western to the list of cartridges far superior to the 6.5 Creed.

Please don't take anything in this thread seriously. ;) Not wanting to sustain a pointless argument, but the Creed does do a great job for what it is. I have had 270 Win's in the past and have some pretty big 27's now. They all do great, but hard to tell the dif on deer... You seem like a good person and know where you stand. Just don't close yer mind. The Creed has made many a person a better shooter and hunter. Anything that promotes the "sport" is good for us all. No need to dis on it if you're secure in what you have.

I haven't used the 6.5 cm for hunting BUT inside of 300 yards I really don't think a deer is going to notice a difference between a 6.5 cm a 270 or a 300 WM. Dead is dead just like the horse that's getting beat.

Has killed more big game animals at longer distances than any other cartridge in the history of man??? Bullhockey!!! The 30 06, 270, 308, 7mm mag, as well as a few others I'm sure can put that tale to rest.

Please, slowly read the first sentence in my post, then slowly read it again. Then sit and think about what exactly you just read. Maybe you'll get it.
