A lot of the high 6.5 CM velocities posted by guys with Reloder 26 is with 22-24" barrels...

in your 30" barrel (and mine), the Velocity runs a "little" higher than what the 22" barrel guys are posting.

I didn't want to endure the shame of owning a 6.5 Manbun but was interested in the case. Soooo ........ I built a .224 Manbun instead. What a blast to shoot and everyone thinks it's cool.

This thread has been great!
I knew that there was many other 6.5 CM shooters just as I knew there were just as many hater's.
I enjoy my 6.5 and like most of the other 6.5 owners that came forward, we really don't care about the hater's.
One thing I have noticed is none of the hater's have actually given a reason that they hate other than the stereotype answers.
I'm just glad everyone is having fun with it no matter which side you're on.

Like any round it will do what it's supposed to do.
The part that really turned me off was the massive amount of bull spewing out across the net about how much better it was than anything else.
When people are telling me that this little cartridge with the same weight bullet is going to outperform my 7RM or 7STW I have to start putting on some hip waders on before the bull is getting deep

However keeping things in perspective I am sure that I would really like the way they handle and performs.

I totally agree with that.
The hype was way over the top and they were trying to make it out to be something it isn't.
I like the cartridge but I definitely won't be selling all my other rifles since I have a 6.5 creedmoor now.

Didn't shoot it yet. Hopefully tomorrow. Gonna try 147 eldm and 153.5 Berger's. Needed to wait for Elon to set up my target on the moon.
Was gonna go with H4350 but do have lots of 26. Will have to load some up and see.

I agree with you that there's faster and better 6.5 options out there. I just figured this time I would just hit the easy button. And the button actually worked!

The 6.5 CM I'm sure is a fine cartridge for the intended purpose. It is like many other things in rifle shooting and hunting. Popularity drives many to want one and others to go a different direction. There is no arguing against the success of this cartridge as well as the abundance of components available. I might just pick one up as well one day. Not that I need one as the 308win works really well for me in the whitetail woods. However, when has need had anything to do with what rifle we buy.

Interesting read! But for now I'll just have to go load some Nosler 120 grain E-Tips for my .264 CM (I don't support the man bun!) Just in case I get over run with T-Rex; returning from the moon .
