It's a very fine caliber. Shoots well, very accurate, wins matches, and kills things well. What's not to like? Just because some people BS about things it shouldn't do, doesn't mean people should hate it. Hate the BS liars, not the very fine caliber.

OK,when we are all in the confession booth, I will admit,my wife bought me one that was on clearance one day. I proceeded to remove the barrel and turned it into a 7-08. Not before I put 20 rounds through it. I think it was just the Butterbean stigma. Now I have a Ruger 7-08 that I would like to sell to give the CM another look at. I've had a 260 since 93 and it's been my go to. Just stayed away from the CM because I can't grow a man bun.
